• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sounds like a good way to save some time. But my question is...what purpose is the splash pan supposed to be for?
There must have been a reason it was put there, even if it isn't necessary.

At least one of the reasons BRP put them there was to meet EPA or CA noise regulations. It's your call. I have removed my left one on both RTs at the 600 mile oil change.

I've looked at this mod, and on immediate thought it sure makes sense, but that left side panel seems like it will help protect the belt and drive sprocket from any mud or crap thrown up from the road.

After 30,ooo miles, I have to say .....................

:joke: what goes up, must come down nojoke = :hun:

OK, guess we're as good a goose as any to test this out, and we have, through all weather conditions, ryding year round here in Northern Kentucky and SouthWest Ohio. Rain, Sleet, Snow and whatever else Mother Nature has chosen to throw at us, and YES stuff, crud, whatever you'd like to call it, does build up, but not all that bad, at least is the case with Teds Red Sled. We've had the Left side bottom splash pan off since taking delivery from Len at Cowtown last year, and at each oil change that I do, I make sure to clean away anything that has indeed built-up in that area down there, but after 30,000 miles of smiles, all is still well  We've suffered NO ill effects from leaving the splash pan off as of yet. If that changes, I'll let y'all know. But be smart about it if you do this, and check it yourself every so often, and if you see "stuff" building up, remove the stuff

The only crud I have ever had buit up or accumulated there was from the belt. I have never seen much in the way of mud, slush, sand, or even water marks there.
