• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question about the new oil access cover & filter for SE5

I have searched for the past 2 days and cant seem to find the answer to my question so......
I just got back from Afghanistan, and have read about the new lower cover & grill for the oil change on the RT. The wife has a 2011 RTS SE5. My question is, I have read that Can Am also has increased the oil changes to 4600 miles if you have the new improved oil filter/s. Trying to catch up on all the Spyder stuff since I have been gone.

1. Do both of the filters need to be changed (motor & trans) to the new type or is it just one of the filters that has been changed? And if so does anyone have the new part numbers?
I believe the filter is longer and will require a longer housing and possible bolts as well?

2. I have the form for the new oil access & grill cover but it doesn't mention anything about the new oil filter/s. So if I take it in for the 9K mile service is the new filter and housing included with it as well?

I hope my questions make sense.
Thanks for any help, trying to get the Spyder ready for riding season here in AZ.

First off welcome back Bro.

All the filters the dealers have now will be the new filters and it will come with the new longer cap for the trans. If you have the letter for the quick change kit you should be good to go, just see your dealer. :doorag:

First of all, Welcome home and your dealer will do all this changes. Make sure you call them and make appointment and let them know your concern. Have fun and ride safe.
