Luv mine.......
I cannot disagree with anyone on here.
Sit down and let me tell you a tale......
I'd been riding "leaners" since the sixties in England and since then I've noticed how much closer to each other people drive now.
"I didn't see you......"...how many times have we heard that.
About three months I saw an ad on TV and the Spyder immediately caught my eye.....you can't help but see it.
Two months ago I bought a black and silver RS. Went to pick it up....started it and selected first, dragged the clutch and started to move. Spyder started to turn left and I leaned right and stalled out....most embarrasing. I restarted and started to move and got to the parking lot next door.
"Oh hell, have I made a big mistake." I spent the next ten minutes getting used to what was happening. It really didn't take that long to get comfortable enough to run in traffic at up to 30 mph.
I got home after a nice run down the highway at appropriate speed.
Haven't looked back....I couldn't/wouldn't go back.
Its a different way of riding...you gotta relax and you'll develope your own style.
The most pleasing thing in my mind is that we're easy to see...and that goes a long way toward a decent comfort factor....and I believe it will make you a better car driver in the long run, too.
And no, you may not corner as fast as a 2 wheeler but that V-twin has great acceleration.
Trust me, you'll not regard it as a mistake to get one.
