problems keep multiplying

Have another post concerning problems with my spyder and the dealer not being able to solve them. Just picked it up again last Sat. after being in the shop for 39 days .Started home and the identical problems came on the screen sending me into limp mode .Now my suspension isn't working , go to adjust and all I get is an orange screen where the bars are normally shown with a message .....manual . Anyone had this problem before and what the repair consisted of ?

If you take a look at the left side of the swingarm and up near the shock mount; you should see a rod that attaches to the swingarm, and extends forward... That is the ride height monitoring setup: perhaps they forgot to hook that back up? :dontknow:

I do not know what your first issue is. As for the suspension, CHECK THE FUSE, on the 2012 it also controls the horn and grip heaters. I typically blow this fuse once a year for no reason at all.

A lot of members here will tell you to find a new dealer whenever there is an issue without any information or facts.Be careful with that advice. Any of the 4 larger dealers in Ohio has competent spyder technicians. Work with them. Remember, a little bit of sugar goes a long way.

Different dealer

I know about the different dealer thing ......There's a reason I'm using this one now .I have been using the honey mode so far but that may be running out .My bike has been there since July 9th. I just picked it up on Sat ( 2nd time ) and problems were still there . Dealer swears they test rode it for 37 miles with no problems but then I rode it and at 8 miles everything went South again.No explanation for the suspension problem yet but the dealer said there has to be an underlying issue that's causing supposedly unrelated codes to pop up. Started a work claim with BRP which will hopefully get things fixed ......soon. Didn't have a chance to look at the connector before taking the bike back in but don't know of any reason they'd have to disconnect it for the work they did before .

The reason I suggested to try another dealer, because he tried honey and the didn't resolve issues. After 39 days , they either didn't work on it or they might not have the expertise to figure it out. Should of filled a claim with BRP during that time. I agree you need to be patient some time, but that is a long time! Not saying it was a bad dealer, but maybe some new eyes might find something that they couldn't. Hope they resolve issue so he can enjoy the ride!

I've seen that message!! Solution for me, simple!! It might help you as well, just add some air to the rear suspension manually... I used the valve under the seat, and put in enough to bring it up to about 25 psi on the gauge at the servo - haven't had any issues since & the on board air has proved to work fine ever since. Might work for you too :dontknow:

You can bet if my dealer had mine for 39 days and i still had the same issues someone would be in for an ass chewing. Different if you got a loaner.
Different dealer or get BRP INVOLVED.
I just sent them on email with a question got the big dealer act. Their dealers are well trained.

That's what the dealer said about manually adding air but he also said there's gotta be an underlying cause for everything going on . Just too many things happening at once .

They did start a claim with BRP today so we'll see how it goes .I miss the riding but to be honest for the most part it would have been too hot to ride anyhow.....now I feel better saying that...lol And before anyone says otherwise ...yes it does get too hot sometimes.

If your spyder has been in the shop for 39 days, and they have not fixed your spyders problem, get BRP involved. Also, in the meantime look for an other dealer. Deanna

If you're from Lancaster, Ohio then you're familiar with the ASK family's three dealership locations... Lancaster, East Columbus and Grove City... I purchased my new (0 miles, fresh out of the crate) 2012 RT at the East Columbus/Superstore and it has been serviced there exclusively without problems.

Maybe give them a try?

You wanta come ride down here where it really gets hot, no-one thinks it's getting warm until the mercury passes 35 (degrees C that is, about 95 F I think!) nojoke It's not unusual to get 'on the road' temps above 50 C/120 F in many places down here - at those temps burning rubber away from the lights can become problematic; you tend to just leave a bit of a trench in the bitumen & spray sticky black asphalt all over the back of the bike & anything following!! Sticky roads can make for fun cornering tho! :yes::yes:

ATGATT becomes a necessity simply because any bare skin exposed to (hot & dry) moving air as you ride simply desiccates & withers PDQ, but keeping moving (& hydrated) is a really good idea anyway, sitting stopped in the sun when it's that hot is just not fun - lucky we've got lots of roads where there's very little need to slow or stop except for re-fuelling man & bike :thumbup:


Not that we've seen a lot of heat down under recently, but then it is our winter time & this one is proving to be just a tad wetter than most we've had lately!! Looking forwards to Spring with some warmer weather & a bit more sunshine. Riding in the rain is becoming boring & that's putting a bit of dampener on everything!
