Price per mile/km

I dunno Ed, it could just be that most are getting a bit stuck on the math/calcs when trying to convert 'Miles of Smiles' into 'Miles per Gallon' :dontknow:

That's a pretty complex wad of formulae to wade thru! I know that, cos I gave up when trying to work out the monetary value of the final result of the 'Still Cheap at Twice the Price' calculation, and I WAS trying to work it out in Oz Metric Smiles/litres per kilometre, which is a whole lot easier than trying to convert 'Smiles' into quarts & gallons :yikes:

Gas prices are only a small part of it, you have to take in to account how often you change the oil ($$), tires ($$), and routine maintenance ($$) the more and longer rides the more that mile costs. If gas MPG is the only thing have fun a fill up when you need to after all its only money you can always get more. (every week, by-week or monthly pay check.)

I wouldn't go there if I were you. Better to live in blissful ignorance. And don't forget depreciation. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I am paying about .09/mile based on $3.60/gallon of Premium and 40 MPG.
However, I don't care about the gas prices or mpg. I just enjoy riding my S2S and will continue to do so for a long time, I hope.

My Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi gets about 9 mpg around town. I'm averaging 30-33 mpg around town on my Spyder. I'm happy on my Spyder cuz I don't have to look for the lowest prices. I just take off and enjoy the ride.

I bought my RT for sport/pleasure. Compared to most other activities I would consider, the spyder is a bargain - even as gas prices have gone wild. Have you priced a steak lately!?
