• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

powerlet outlet and yet another question

I have a cable mounted powerlet under the steering. I'm going to cut the wires and mount a powerlet in the dash. When drilling through the dash, were you just careful or did you place something under the dash to let you know you were through before hitting a wire? It looks like there is more than enough room to stop the drill before hitting anything.

I have 2 powerlets in the dash. Just pop out the instrument cluster and you will be able to see where to drill the holes.

+2 I just removed the display, taped the areas where I drilled the holes to prevent boo-boos, marked and center-punched the spots, then drilled carefully. No problems whatsoever. I do recommend you remove the cap from the Powerlet before installation and move it around to select the best spot to drill. Hard to judge the dash curve, otherwise.

Scotty, if memory serves, it was suggested to you that the holes drilled in the dash may have played a part in the spiderweb cracking around your windshield screws. Do you believe this to be the case or not?

I don't see how that would be possible. They are miles apart. The holes are in the rear of the upper console, toward the bottom of the dash display. Nowhere near the windshield mounting points. They replaced our PE windshield with a newer design, and it did not crack. Besides, the windshields both cracked long before the Powerlets were installed.

Thanks Scotty. I thought as much, but I wanted to confirm before I drilled.
