• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The temp is 15 degrees and cloudy, yesterday we had rain/that changed over to snow.

Tomorrow Tuesday the will start out with some sunshine, and it wont be warm, it will turn very cold on Tuesday night with low temps. in the single digits below zero.

Then we get the "INFAMOUS POLAR VORTEX"! on Friday.

Friday night the temps will be well below zero. Friday night into Saturday morning could see air temps dropping into teens and 20 below zero and blustery NNW winds will bring the wind chills-those "feel like temps" down as cold as -40 below. The frigid air mass will retreat back up to Northern Canada.

On Sunday the temps will be warmer.

Woke up this morning to 17 below, this after a week in the Caribbean. A little thermal shock here, and I've got snow to blow on top of it....

Mostly cloudy today here in the desert S.W. The high will be 60. The wind is 8-10 MPH. Tomorrow is expected to be a wet day. Then we will dry out for February and getting back to 70+ degrees by the weekend. Stay safe..... Jim

Here in PA it's the 3rd warmest January on record. Only 2 days this month it was at or below normal temps, the rest of the days were above. Averaging in the 40's and 50's all month. Cold snap for the next couple days and then back in to the mid to upper 40's by Sunday. February future outlook is also looking to me a milder than normal February. The best part about it is we have had basically NO SNOW. A couple of fronts came thru twice that gave us 1-3" each time but it was gone in a day or two and didn't linger on like it usually does.

And I thought moving back to Texas from Connecticut meant I wouldn't have to deal with this anymore. From the National Weather Service:

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 9 AM This morning
through Wednesday across the Hill Country, along and east of the
I-35 corridor. Significant icing with hazardous to very hazardous
travel conditions and power outages will be expected. Expect ice
accumulations as high as a quarter to half of an inch, especially
across the Hill Country and into the Austin metro area.

The real wet day predicted for here in the desert S.W. isn't happening. It's mostly sunny and 49 degrees. Headed for a high of 58. The wind is at 2 MPH. There is a slight chance of some sprinkles late this afternoon. Kinda closing out the month of January with a whimper! Stay safe and see you next month..... Jim

Edit; The rain never happened. It turned out to be a beautiful 62 degree day to end the first month of 2023

Dang it! The ice is here. Countless wrecks all over the metropolitan area. One dead in a 10 car pileup. People here don't have the good sense to NOT DRIVE ON ICED OVER ROADS!!!

:chat: ....Welcome to the Final Day of January 2023. Sooooooo you know what that means. Two ruff months till Spring in good ole Indiana. April is the magic month for Indiana Farmers and some city folks to begin the Spring Time Season. Also the trees are budding and the grass is starting to green up. .....

So enjoy your Final day of January '23.
Currently 21°F with sunshine and a wind chill of 11°F.
High 23°F, low of 11°F.

Just a lite dusting of snow on the ground. It looks nice outside but it sure is cold. I will enjoy the Day inside the house and watch an old western movie.

Stay Healthy. ....

We are coming to an end of January. Another month that went by very fast. More of the same for us today and tomorrow. Freezing drizzle. Schools have been closed since Monday and the trend continues through tomorrow. Starting Thursday, it is supposed to get back to "normal."
