Hi all from Montreal,
Introducing myself so you'll know me when you see me.
Picked up my 2008 GS SM5 Premiere Edition #3068 with only 160km (100miles) on it last Thursday.
I test rode a GS SM5 in 2008, an RT SE5 last year & an RS SM5 last week. With my first ride I did not like it. With the second one I knew what to expect & enjoyed it more. Last week's ride was fun.
The one I have bought was originally purchased by a lady who rode it twice for a total of 160km then stored it in a heated garage. Last week she had the dealer from whom she bought it collect it & put it in the showroom as an accommodation or consignment sale.
I couldn't resist it!!
I'm a 72 year old grandad who just loves riding. I'm trading in my '06 Honda Silverwing maxi scooter as I have a hard time manoeuvring it around as I have a bum knee & a delicate lower back. I've had all sorts of bikes/scooters since 1957 ranging from a 125cc BSA Bantam when I lived in the UK to a Yamaha V-Max here in Montreal.
I'm somewhat apprehensive about my purchase & riding it, but I really hope it works out for me. I have purchased KewlMetal risers to give me a more upright sitting position & propose to get a taller screen (Givi or a BRP Touring-the shorter of the 2 they offer).
See you around
