• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Picked er' up Today!

 Great taste in color. What is the first farkle going to be?

Thanks! I think my first farkle will be a moving the license plate position. I like what BAM did with his. I remove the rear tire fender and place the license plate at the base of the swingarm. Chopper style.

That's identical to the F3-S in my dealer's show room, a great lookin ryde!! The one I'm looking at is an SM6 manual and that doesn't bother me as I'm a motorcycle guy. I see your foot controls appear to be in the stock #3 position, I'll have to put a #5 on it for my long legs. Looks like we have the same taste in our F3s, congrats on your new ryde!!

Thanks Den1953! I agree with you regarding the foot peg position. I'm 6'0 tall and the stock position creates more leg bend than I'd prefer.

After months of waiting and constant trollingthe F3-S forum, I'm happy to say that I'm finally a member of the ranks. Took ownership of 2015 Spyder F3-S SE today from Tampa Bay Powersports! First time on anything other than 4 wheels so, I'm sure I will have plenty of questions. Looking forward to connecting with the Spyder community!

Congrats on the purchase.

SPYDERS

:congrats: AND :welcome:.....No one has mentioned this , but there is a learning curve with these machines. Some are quicker than others. If you drive it like a car you will be fine. Also the steering is very easy / fast so gentle is better, and the Brakes can launch you off the seat...........................Take your time and have FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN:yes:, Mike

Thanks Mike! I'm Mike too. Yeah, definitely taking my time getting used to this beast. Practicing in the neighborhood mostly. It has a total of 4 miles on it so far. There is a burning smell. I'm wondering if that is just the "new" smell ?

:hun:...When I picked up my 2014 RT and drove it home to Vermont ( 1500 + miles ) I don't remember any burning smell, and I took it for a test drive before leaving the area of the Dealership.............Not saying there is something amiss with yours , but I would do a through check over and try and identify where the smell seems to originate from.............Mike to Mike :thumbup:...........PS,,,Lamont has already designed a Hitch for the F- 3, I have built 3 myself so I'm anxious to see what He cam up with.

that smell

Mine definitely had a "burning off the new engine" smell for awhile. My husband said he thought it was normal. I asked the dealership about it and they said it was normal.

The bad part was that I was originally planning on calling it "Doc Hudson" after the cars character (the headlights look like Cars headlights), but every time I came to a stop, I'd say, "Whew! Stinky Pete!" and that's the name that has stuck. We'll have to switch to "Speedy Pete" maybe, but...

I have test road 3 of them none of them had miles on them when I started out and all 3 had the same smell from the exhaust system. This is normal and will go away.

Thanks for the feedback regarding the smell. That's a weight off my mind. I'm sure "STINKY PETE" will feel the same way!

:congrats: I'm new here myself. Had my F3 for 2 weeks now and LOVE it! You will, too.

I'm just over the 600 mile break in period and I'm starting to lose that "new engine smell". After babying it for the past 600 miles, today I really broke her in. Wow! Does this thing go!!!
