PC desktop dying?

I am a gamer, so I need a high powered desktop to run demanding games like Tomb Raider and Skyrim. My desktop is three years old and still going strong. In the past, I had to upgrade the video card every year. My NVidia 680 is going on three years.

Intel has slowed release of new CPU's and NVidia has done he same with high end video cards. Hardware is also not going down in price. Ram and solid state drive prices are still high. Good flat screen monitors are also expensive.

I know mobile devices are to blame. But I can't run high end graphics on a little tablet. Also, they don't make a tablet with a 27 inch screen.

The Intel i7 5 series came out a long time ago and is still king
