• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Passenger arm rest that swing up

Good Morning. We are looking for passenger armrests that swing up instead of out. I have had ones that swing out and they tend to swing out in the wind. With the Spyder the passenger especially needs something to hang on to. I have seen them on Harley and Honda trikes and liked them alot. Are there any for the Spyder. Thanks, Mike

Haven't seen any, but I think my wife would prefer that style over the swing-out ones we have too. She says they tend to swing out just resting her arms...they don't offer much of any sense of security. I asked at Spyderfest if there was a change that could be made but the response was "tighten the bolts". Well, if ya tighten the bolts then they'll be harder to pivot, and they're already pretty stiff. Last thing I wanna do is damage the plastic they mount to.

:agree: I don't think that there are any "tip-ups" available for the Spyders either. ;)
I assume that you'd have to attach them to the rear speaker housings; it sounds like an interesting idea!

Dunno how important the "swing up" feature is to you, but wife and I had the Corbin fixed armrests installed on ours due to her balance issues. They mount directly above the rear speakers, as seen here:

With the ones that swing out. There are three screws to tighten. One on top, one on each side. The one on the inside is a pain to do. But it works. Tom :spyder:

Corbin rests are awesome!
Just ask my wife

It became a much better experience for her
And me because she was not nervous anymore

Revco arm rest down swing out with the wind. Don't care how fast you are going they won't swing out. My wife loves them

They're all designed to not lock in place...
(Probably an issue of "safety")
Tighten things down to the point where you're comfortable with the set-up, and go enjoy your ride! :D

Okay, the wife't find is pushing for arm rests. Since I can't find ones that swing up what is the general consensus for the best ones? I have the ultimate tallboy seat but am thinking about getting a heated seat (any ideas about that?). Thanks. Mike
