As I was headed to Chicago from California my Parking Brake quit.:dontknow: I had the dealer in Hayward, CA look at it and he found the cable had come off the front pulley. He said that if it came off again that I would need a new pulley. He put it back together but it quit again within 1/2 hour. I next had the folks at the Chicago Event take a look. He said that the cable was bad (sticky) and he lubed it and put it back on the pulley. It quit again within 15 min. I finally took a look when I got home and took some pics.
The problem is that when the parking brake returns to the "off" mode, the cable doesn't retract into its housing. The next time the brake is set, the cable comes off the front pulley.
I lubricated the heck out of the cable and it seems to be working now.
The problem is either the dirty cable that sticks or the helical spring on the rear pulley is not strong enough to retract the cable.
