• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Parking Brake Cable Routing/Installaion.

Hey fellow Spyder/Ryders!

Been noticing my Parking Brake Cable is worn and despite the lubrication I've applied down/through the sheath over the past couple years it still appears to be binding. I guess the weather, terrain and normal wear has finally gotten to it.

I'm ordering a new Parking Brake cable and springs to give it a good refresh. I will be consulting the trusty Spyder Shop Manual very soon.

Anyone install a new Parking Brake cable before - how was the routing?

Thanks.
Cheers.

Just dont make the mistake I made. I rerouted mine when fitting bar risers and did not realise that when the bars were turned it would "flip over" and sit on the exhaust. The inner sleeve melted and jammed the cable so stay well away from the exhaust pipe.

Thanks for the note - I plan to stick to the factory BRP routing outlined in the shop manual.
Thanks.
