• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi, I enjoy this forum to learn. I have a 2012 RT-SE5 that won't go. I was parked and when I got on to start, there was a delay in start, a hard shaking, numerous codes flashed, then the Spyder begin to shake and click and clack, limp mode came on the screen. I shut everything off, and had the brothers hand push the Spyder to a sheltered area for the towing company to come...which they could not do until the dealer opened up. The dealer said, after Roadster was in the shop 10 days, that I was unit #21 off the assembly line and they need a type A diagnosing machine to detect what is wrong as all they had is a type B. I had the Spyder 3 weeks and it had about 1000 miles on it (OK I love to ride). The roadster has been in the shop 3 weeks. Has anyone else had this problem/situation??? This was a demo unit and the oil etc was changed at 200 miles before delivery. I know the seats stitching came apart and I have had to have the seat replaced too. I enjoyed riding and read all the good things about a Spyder an dhope I did not buy a lemon....sigh :doorag:.....

The waiting is the hardest part. I assume your in communication with the dealer, if it is a good dealer they will be calling you on a regular basis. It is just a machine and they should get it fixed.

Well, the first thing I would have checked under those circumstances would have been the battery connections (inside the bodywork) for cleanliness and tightness, and the negative jumper terminal under the seat for tightness. Beyond that BUDS would be the best place to go, to look at the fault code history to see where things started. One problem can cause a bunch of cascading, related warnings, so you have to see what came first. BUDS is the only way to do this.

I would worry about a dealer who did not have the latest version of BUDS...much less a version for a year old roadster. :yikes: Sounds like they are struggling and can't afford the periodic BUDS license renewal. I'd be leaning on them daily, asking the dealership owner exactly when they will have the diagnostics available. If this continues, I'd seriously consider contacting BRP Customer Service to get BRP directly involved, and I'd also consider paying to have the Spyder towed to another dealer.

Very good advice here. It does sound like the dealer is not up to date on their diagnostic equipment. You might look up the dealer in the search engine to see if they have surfaced concerning repair/maintenance issues before. It might be time to be looking for a different servicing dealer if they do not work out. For recommendations, post a request and the locals will help out.

Let us know how it works out.

Oh, :welcome: I see this is your first post.

I am doing my best to be patient and am looking for another repair shop. Another dealer that is in the area is 55 miles away. I did contact BRP with concerns and they sent me an email to talk to the dealer. If no satisfactory answer on Tuesday when I call, I will call BRP and talk to someone. I was to ride my RT to Myrtle Beach and be at a booth to talk to people...long story why...but I may have to cage it down there...sigh. I did check the battery and all was tight there, I know this dealer has many products, and sells a lot.... but sometimes can be short with ladies...If that tells you anything Thanks for your help it is appreciated.
