• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Votes: 15 6.4%

Almost 7900 members and only 168 people have Spyders.:yikes::yikes::yikes:

Agreed. Everyone always seems to be curious about the sales volumes and ratios of ownership yet we only have 168 answers.

I guess we will have to wait until BRP goes public to get that data! :banghead:

Still, it would be nice to get a large enough sampling to estimate what our SpyderLovers universe owns.

LATEST SURVEY

wyliec, you absolutely nailed it and i'm sure Randy would concur......Stevemac, the tire survey i suggested awhile produced only 45 votes ? ...what nobody has tires on their spyders ???????.......and TAMI ,I'll match the comfort of my G/S against any R/T anytime ,anyplace....:gaah:...:agree:...:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:...mike....

Right. Hoping to get a large enough sampling of actual owner's current rides to see if we have RT to RS of 50/50, 60/40,, whatever the poll tallies up to. Of course we will have to estimate the percentage of "problems" posted. And NO, Randy you can't pick the percentage of problems, but everyone can weigh in with reasonable estimates ;).

I don't know what this will show other than what our ratio of ownership is compared to the ratio of problems. My, thought, and it is a WAG, is that we will see the "ratio of problems RT/RS" slightly higher than the "ratio of owners RT/RS", primarily due to electronics/battery issues (I.e. a more complicated machine). But I don't think We will see that the RT is a "problem child". Mine has been flawless with only a couple of minor owner induced problems. :yikes:

In my mind, a normal recall that permanently solves an issue isn't a "problem". On the other hand a recall repair that doesnt resolve the issue is a "problem". I know this is a lot of subjectivity, but take Throttle Bodies for an example. One diagnosed and repaired completely isn't a problem, but a recurring issue Like the one Forrest has had is a problem.

Again, just an interesting exercise and the only real data we will have is the ratio of owners RT/RS or both. :):):)

Right now the votes are 90 RT's and 70 RS's. If my math is correct, with the amount of problems posted, that brings the percentage of RT problems to about 92.8 % of this forums posted issues. Problem child is not enough to describe the RT. It's the devil, Steve !!!! :roflblack: :joke::roflblack:

MAYBE UP NORTH WHERE YOU'RE FROM THEY DO, BUT DOWN HEE R IN THE SOUTH WHERE THE WEATHER AND ROADS ARE BETTER WE PREFER RT's. CAUSE WE CAN STAY ON THE ROAD LONGER IN BETTER COMFORT AND STILL RIDE LIKE THE WIND!

From what I hear........... the dealers down your way push to sell the RT, so they are gaurenteed warranty service work because they don't sell snowmobiles !!! :joke: Thats a joke.

:roflblack:
:roflblack: Your probably right.

I'm really suprised with the numbers, I would have thought that there would be way more RT owners on this site.

 We're on our 2nd RT now:yes:

:dontknow:Oh, and what is this that I found:roflblack:

That's a nice option. Very nice indeed !
Best of luck with that.

That option was heavily modified for a single use on the RT !!! It was quickly converted back the the RS and damage control was performed to make sure no long term effects were possible.

Wait until Holly finds out she is an aftermarket option. :roflblack:

2010 RT-S with RT622, lots of mods. We love it. Have had headaches. But I also buy Euro cars :banghead: :roflblack: :ani29:

The Rotax 990 however appears to be the biggest engine Rotax makes.
They probably still have the plans and tooling for the Buell 1150R motor. Just convince Harley that a few bucks in royalties from Spyder production is better than the nothing out of Buell they're getting now. A rational Harley would say yes.
