• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Probably been done before, but we were having a discussion on another thread about a potential new RT owner and whether there are actually more problems with the RT or if it is a perception based on the percentage of owners here who own RT versus RS. Of course there are some who own both.

And this thread isn't to downplay one ride versus the other or start a war! :doorag::doorag::doorag:

Personally, I like them both, but it will be interesting to see what the ratio of owners here on SpyderLovers is. Be sure to click on your choice in the poll so the numbers will automatically be tallied!:thumbup::thumbup:

For those of you who used to own one, but now ride something else,,, well,,, sorry. There is no option for you here. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

We've got 2 RS's because we like the sport aspect of it. You can modify it to your hearts desire...at a cost of course. Don't know if I'd like to put out for 2 RT's with all the farkles...I'd be standing in a food line someplace...

RS production -------- 2008 to present
RT production -------- 2010 to present

Enough said !!!! :roflblack::roflblack:

I like the idea of this poll Steve.

Good point. Two years head start.

But we are only going to catch SpyderLovers with this poll, so it will be interesting to see what our happy little universe here holds.

I just hope we get enough response to get reliable numbers. ;)

True, this site does seem to have more RT recent purchases. :yikes:

Both GS and RT models will have problems but it's the dealer service and dealer knowledge that makes your ownership experience good or bad-- JMHO:p

We must also take into concideration the age demographic that the Spyder attracts. I'm pushing 40 and I'm on the younger side of the spectrum when it comes to owning a Spyder. It obvious the more mature crowd will perfer the comfy RT over the sexy, sporty, and faster RS.

Some current RS riders would want the RT over the RS but had to settle on the RS because of the price tag. I'm totally in the minority when it comes to windshields, so I won't even go down that road. :roflblack:

The votes are very close so I wanted to post this before some people might say I'm making excuses. :roflblack:

I had one of the early Rs and rode it to death. I was hoping to move tothe RT when it came out but decided to try other means of transportation for a while.

I am back in the market and tried to fall in love with the RT but just couldn't. I can see the appeal for a big cruiser bike but not for not yet. So I am off in a couple of minutes to pick up a 2008 RS. Everything old is new again.

I love my RS and its almost paid for!:roflblack:
I will have an RT in the garage as well because its Just a Matter of time until I get a Big down payment and a GREAT December Deal!nojoke

The real question is, how many times have you voted or had friends and family vote? :roflblack::roflblack:
