Just had my 9300 mile service done last week. So SHOULD be ok.
There's three things you need to bear in mind about this sort of problem with the V-twin Spyders:
Firstly, the V-twins use oil as you ride them, so you really should check your oil level after each ride just to be safe - it doesn't take being all that much low in oil level to have an adverse impact on your gear selection!
Secondly, even if it's the afternoon of the day you had the service done, are you
positive that whoever did the service put the right oil quantity & volume of oil into your Spyder?? Did you check that they did? Cos if you didn't physically check & they put just a tad too little in there, it doesn't take being all that much low in oil level to have an adverse impact on your gear selection!
Thirdly, with the V-twin Spyders, it really doesn't take being all that much low in oil level to have an adverse impact on your gear selection! By being as little as a cupful of oil below the optimum oil level (& it's quite possible for a V-twin to have used that much oil after maybe a coupla hundred miles of spirited riding, especially if it's getting close to the next scheduled oil change &/or the oil is carrying a fairly high soluble contaminant load!!) you can get difficult gear changes, slow gear selection from neutral (maybe even
NO gear selection possible from neutral), or pretty much exactly the sorts of issues you described.....
Given that all those codes you told us came up can stem from clutch or selector issues, & could occur because the solenoids, circuit, &/or controller just got hot - like any/all of them would if you were a little low on oil..... when you got that orange screen & couldn't find a gear, was your first step to check the oil level?? Probably shoulda been!! :sour:
If the cause of all your troubles was just that the oil level was low, & you've since topped it up to the right level using the correct checking technique (without adding too much & causing an overflow into the air cleaner!) then you probably shouldn't have any more problems if you keep the oil at the correct level. It seems that at least initially,
MOST of this sort of gear selection issues arise from low oil levels, & thankfully, that's got an easy fix, even if it's a bit of a pain to check your oil every ride/coupla hundred miles!
I really hope you found this one had an easy fix & you got it sorted already.
