• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oops! Out of Dash Mount Systems for the moment!

This what I did. I build a "mount" and using nuts and bolts on the piece above the safety card.
Where did you get the backup camera and monitor? My brother is looking to get one to put on his tractor as he is having trouble turning his head to look behind.

That's pretty clever, do you have a photo from the front or side?

They are all over the place and read reviews first. I got mine, see "My Mods" for more info. I got mine from Walmart on-line, pickup at store free. Amazon has a number of them. Where I put mine was not a good idea, hit a pot hole or something riding 2 up, ripped it right out. Also somewhat hard to see in the sunlight. I'd get wireless so running wires to the front isn't needed. I did run it all of the time, used as a mirror.

I made a modification to your bracket to allow more flexabilty. I regularily change opptions that I want for trips and found the bar a bit crowded at times. I used the one you sold me, traced the outline then added an extension at each end to allow for two more mounting spots for a total of 7 I think it is. This allows me to spread out the accessories mounted to it as necessary. The modification follows the same contours as yours so it lookes stock. I made mine out of aluminum since I could cut it easier.

I have been asked several times by other riders to make one for them but I told them this was your design so I could not do so. They may be or may have alread asked you for this larger system so just a heads up.

Thanks

Thanks for the heads up, while I don't have a patent on the Dash Mount I appreciate it not being copied. I'm happy to make one with 7 holes if there is some demand for it. Do you have a photo of your modification?

Thanks

The Ram Ball I stock is the "B" size or 1" in diameter. I'd bet Express Mounts - http://www.expressmounts.com/ has something to fit your Nuvi. About how big is the ball end? The "A" size is 9/16" in diameter. This is an "A" size threaded ball http://www.expressmounts.com/ram-mount-aluminum-0.25-20-male-camera-thread-on-0.56-inch-a-ball.html that will fit my Dash Mount System.

The ball on my Nuvi 65 LMT is closer to 11/16th or 17.1 mm or .675". I like your design thus many others would be interested in finding adaptors to make it fit & sturdy. Any other ideas for a source?? The dash mount will work with the F3's - correct??

The Dash Mount only fits the RT. I now have a B-Ball to 17mm Ball adapter.

I just bought one from a member here. Tried to install it on my 2014 Can-Am Spyder RT but had issues getting the bolt to begin to thread (make the initial connection) on the dashboard mount hole to secure the plate to the dashboard. Seems like the Spyder's bolt was just a bit too short to make contact with the dashboard hole. Torx wrench just spins and spins without tightening.

Is it me? Should I keep trying because there's a trick to it? Have others experienced this issue?

If you didn't get the longer screws and the black spacers you won't be able to install it.

Thanks. So that’s the issue. Money wasted. Any way I can find longer screws at (hopefully) local hardware store? Home Depot, Lowes, etc?

Or would you have the screws for sale?

PM me your address and I'll mail you the screws and spacers. I have plenty left over.
