• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Okay SpyderLovers lurkers

Calling me a lurker :sour: did the trick! A keen, but unseen, observer is how I would have described myself!

Actually I was waiting until I had something useful to say, or more likely, had a question to be answered. But so far I've found all my questions have already been asked and answered by others. This site has been very useful to me as a new owner (since September) and I know I'm going to be learning a lot more from it..

Me too....

I don't even have a Spyder yet and I'm glad to be included on your forum. I've learned a lot and will learn even more as well as make new friends here. When the time comes to get my first Spyder I'll feel like I already belong.
We don't own a Spyder yet either, but joined Spyder lovers last month for the weath of info available. We plan on getting a 2014 RT in the Spring, after actually seeing a new model and hearing about new owner experiences. My wife and I have owned 14 motorcycles in the past and are now looking for comfort, stability as well as adventure.

I was thinking the gift would be knowing you helped that member to get a gift .

So the gift of knowing I helped a member get a gift in the spirit of this Holiday of gift giving is a gift for itself. Ok... so the gifter becomes the giftee and so on and so on...

Did I just confuse myself???:dontknow:
:roflblack:

it totally amazes me at how many spyder owners that have never heard of spyderlovers.com! I have met many more spyder owners that didn't know about it, than did!nojoke

I agree! In my area I have met at least 20 spyder riders and only about 5 of them know about this site and use it. Very odd if you ask me. I spread the word every chance I get.

Bob

Lamont,
If you could make business cards avaiable to us; something we could order with our screen name and the SpyderLover's website info on it...
I'd keep a batch in the bike to hand out at every opportunity!

GOS did that in Spyderfest last year and apperantly it's a good promotting tool (and a headache trying to get rid of 4,000 Girls on Spyders business cards :banghead: try to give them away and they never end!)

Hey Bob, Kris designed and printed ours. Not as fancy as some we've seen, but they work. Has our info on the front and the SL website on the back. We make sure whoever we give them to see's the link on the back.

I don't need a gift for supporting SL. :roflblack:

BobnDee- Let me know when you get your Spyder. I'm just up the road from you. Well, 50 miles up the road.

Jumping down from the fence...

Ok Ok... I admit I have been a lurker for the past two years or so, but for a few good reasons... 1) I haven't got a Spyder then, until since last month... 2) Since I have no experience on a Spyder, I cannot contribute meaningfully to the forum... 3) I take the time to read and understand as much about the Spyder as possible, and I really thank everyone and especially Lamonster for this fantastic forum... and the next reason is the sad part... 4) I lived half a world away from you guys and chances of me meeting any of you in person (which I would loved to) is extremely remote... 5) I'm still thinking about this one....

Ok, about my Spyder... a 2013 RT Limited, Pearl White... still haven't reached 1000km yet (sorry, we used the metric system here), being raining almost everyday since I collect it from the dealer...

Any problems so far?... Well, luckily I have read most of the common problems encountered when the Spyder is new, things like occasional stalling at the lights (didn't have it for a few days now) and Limp Home mode P0217 (due to heat soak, can be prevented), so I'm not too overly worried... but what I do worry is... the Spyder is delivered without the heat wrap for the master cylinder and heat shield fitted... the dealer says to have it done during the first service, oh well, we see how things goes...

:congrats: &:welcome: Been to your beautiful country a couple of times, many years ago. Enjoyed it very much.

Thank you and thanks again for having a good impression of my country, in the scope of the Spyder context, the only problem with my country is that it is too darn small!... you can travel from east to west, the furthest two points in under an hour!... for longer distance, you need to cross the border, up North, which is Malaysia...

You talked me into it.

I have been a Lurker for over a year, ever since my wife went looking for her a bike. I saw my first spyder and have wanted one ever since. My wife has agreed that we need to get one as well and not a motorcycle. I have never rode a motorcycle and have no desire to do so but a spyder, that is another story. I am so glad they handle like an ATV as we have 2.
This is a great site and I have learned a lot. Waiting on the 2014's.

Almost forgot, good luck in getting to your goal of 13,000 members.
