There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Oil in the airbox

I wonder if the engine ever gets to the equilibrium point when there is not enough oil to spit into the airbox, but enough to keep the engine operating normally?

I don't know if you can put up with the mess it will make if it ever reaches that point :yikes:
But in my humble opinion, i think you'll be looking at a red oil light long before that equilibrium. :opps:

Oil in airbox

When I ran my '09 RS at the full mark I would get oil dripping onto the plastic by the foot peg. When I ran the oil level about 1/8" above the add line, no more oil drips. Just my experience on my bike.

Yes.

That point is at or just below the BOTTOM END of the stick with the Spyder COLD. I use a long screwdriver to dip the tank and then hold it next to the stick to see where it measures (or get it to JUST touch the stick when it is screwed in).

Keep your oil level here and very little will wind up in your airbox.

Warming the engine for 20 minutes at idle and running the oil at the low level should not be necessary to stop the oil from blowing upward. I would bet in the near future Rotax will put a splash guard on the bottom of the crank case tube.

If you want to stop it now email me, [email protected], and I'll send you pictures of the components and how to assemble them. This system will not restrict the air flow in either direction.

And yes... in the interest of honesty... I also make them but I will give you the information and instructions for nothing... just send me an e-mail with "cc tube instructions" in the subject line. :chat: Ken krb1945

:agree: I learned very early through "Searches" to keep the oil 1/8 to 1/4 inch on the stick when you do the Proper test and I have very little oil in the airbox and none on the filter!
If you have the dealer change your oil check it immediately because in Many cases they over-fill it because they don,t take the time to match the amount they took out TO the amount they put in?:yikes:
