• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil door panel

The panel that covers where you put oil in came off while riding. I did not notice until I got home. Bike has under 10000 miles on it. Has this happened to anyone else? How does it just fall off?

Little help...

Not seeing what spyder you have but the RT's V-twin did have problems loosing the side panel when not instalked properly. Sometimes the rubber gromets push through and the panel will fall off. There are threads on adding a lanyard or cable in case this happens but always double check after the panel has been removed. Even the shops have been known to not install them properly...:banghead:

:welcome:you've come to ANSWER LAND ....JW, you should always tell us what Spyder you are talking about because it makes a difference and it isn't in your BIO.......But I believe you have a GS or RS ???.. and the problem was the little chrome twisty things weren't really fastened tight.......Now if you never touched them and you got this Spyder from a Dealer then they should re-place your Panel..........However if you have to do it go to these people for a good price .....PROCALIBER.COM -- you need to register ( for free ) then you will get the dis-count pricing .........sorry for your loss ........Mike

If you have an RT like me, you will be in for sticker shock. Unless you can find a used one, you will need to order the panel, the sound proofing pads, and the chrome emblem. The emblem is the killer; you must buy them in pairs (left and right), about $80.00.

When you install the new one, drill a small hole in an inconspicuous spot on the panel and tether it to the frame.
