• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

SOUNDS,CRAZY BUT COULD SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO CHANGE OIL IN MY SPYDER, I'VE LOGGED OVER 400,000 MILES ON BIKES AND I DON'T HOW TO CHANGE OIL IN THIS SPYDER?? THANKS

No spin off filter if that is what you are looking for. Designed with just enough difficulty to the average boomer so they are more likely to have it serviced at the dealer .... average cost $160 plus tax. Ain't capitalizium great.:D

the owners manual gives steep by step instructions with photos.all the tools necessary are in the tool kit that comes with the bike.

After your first time doing the oil/filter change and learning the procedure - it is a piece of cake. I can do it in less than 1/2 an hour now.
Well worth learning! You will save a bundle over the years.

Do yourself a favor,

don't over torque the allen bolts when you replace them and Ken's oil change kit has new compression washers, use them. Best of luck, with Lamonster's info, piece of cake.

:agree:

The first time changing the oil on my wife's SE5, I broke one of the allen bolts for the transmission filter off. :yikes: I had to go to 4 different hardware stores before finally finding a replacement. Luckily there was enough of the bolt sticking out that I was able to back it out with a pair of pliers.

I find if you turn :spyder2: on its back, remove filler caps, oil will run out all over the place. Then turn back over and replace oil, wipe down and wash floor in garage. Then take shower and have fun. J/K Lamonster instruct is very good.

Thank's allot i took your advice on changing the oil, but you forgot to say leave the gas cap on. It's a good thing 94 octane doesn't burn quick.:D
