• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I think the last two replies to OP implies, Read The Owners Manual, when in doubt.:banghead::banghead::banghead:

But it's fun to see a new one pop up... :D
Seriously; use what BRP says, and you'll not be going wrong. :2thumbs:
Are there better oils out there? Probably!
But that's a whole different thread! :roflblack:

To directly reply to the OPs question. Get the filters (OEM are only ones available) from Baja Ron and I use Shell Rotella T6 full synthetic that is widely available in retail channels for reasonable prices and meets all BRP specs for that bike. Its also shown to hold up very well in oil analysis in this and many other vehicles.

Yikes..!!

use factory recommended oil and filter and by the time your ready for the next change you might have finished reading all the posts about oil. Can't go wrong using oem...

oils and filters

What filter and oil does the Fateful recommend for the F3?

I have a 08 se,38,000, I always use BRP filters and full syn, amsoil. we also have 2012 rt do the same service ever 3000 to 3500 miles no more than that. But when not sure just follow recommend .:spyder2::spyder:

Sorry, didn't mean to be cruel. I just figured everyone may be tired of hearing my opinion on the subject.

But please Don't type in 'Oil' in the search function. You'll overload Lamont's server!
