• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil Change - Parts

Thanks for the note.

This is what I use. With this tool, it is a piece of cake. Without this tool, it is nearly impossible.

I've been looking at picking up a small grease gun and extension. All I can see available in my area are 1/8" NPT. Is this the type that will fit the Spyder's fittings?

Thanks
The 1/8" NPT is the hose or extension fitting size and thread type. It has nothing to do with the end that fits on the grease fitting. The end you found a picture of should fit that type of hose, and work fine for you.

Maybe I missed it in other threads, but was wondering if the BRP synthetic oils really need to be changed every 3k miles? I thought they would be good for at least 5k.

First, the BRP oils are no longer full synthetic, they are a blend. Second, the factory specifies oil changes every 3,000 miles. If you want to assure that your warranty will be honored in case of engine damage, stick with their schedule and their oil specification (not necessarily their oil). If the warrnty possibilities do not bother you, you can do as you please.

Ken, thanks for the update on this!!

There are no TSC stores in my province, but I was thinking of checking out Princess Auto, just at the other end of the city from me. I hope to check into this over the next week or two.
I requested my dealer to lub the 8 front suspension fittings, today. I will check to see if they have done it. If not I may check into a small grease gun, extension and a right angle adapter sooner.

thanks again.

Looks like Princess does have one. It may be a bit tight for the rear uppers though.

follow-up on suspension lubrication

It IS possible to grease all eight original straight zerk fittings on the front suspension without removing the wheels or trunk, using a straight grease gun fitting on the end of the a rubber hose (included with my grease gun kit from an auto parts store).

You do need to remove the front/side body panels and one 10mm bolt on each side near the top/rear zerk fitting that lets you move a plastic part out of the way. Tedious but not difficult. Figure an hour start to finish both sides. This is on a GS/RS; haven't done an RT yet.
