There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Going to wait a bit and see if any Hotels / rooms are blocked for the event. Maybe even a discount?

Pet Friendly Durango Hotel

Just made reservations for the Owner's Event at the Alpine Inn. Rates were good compared to many many other places and cancellation policy is great too. We plan to stay a week and ride, ride, ride and then move on for another week. Alpine Inn is 970 247-4042.

silly question

being a flat lander do you have to change anything in the Buds to cross the Rocky mountains?
does altitude affect the Spyder?

thanks

I'll be there!

Really needed this info ASAP as my HD buds and I were planning a trip to the Grand Canyon about that time--- we're going to work this stop into our trip-- maybe just 1-2 days in Durango..... does anyone know the actual date of the main dinner event?

You shouldn't have any problems on the passes up to 12K. Many FI engines have a little trouble going up to 14K... but many don't.
We've had over 15 spyders at 11.5 and 12k with no problem whatsoever. Average in Durango is around 6.5k

Better to prepare yourself for high altitude. People are usually okay up to about 8k depending on health. Drink lots of water and sports drinks throughout the day... it's very dry here.

That's funny. I called them a couple of hours ago for 3 rooms for 5 nights & they wanted a $238.48 nonrefundable deposit. Decided not to use them.

Camping?

Any information on camping places in the area would be appreciated. Though after 1000+ miles I might want a bath.

Looks like the Texas people are staying at Knights Inn...we are booked...thanks twain and Conroe Spyders....let's start packing...see y'all sunday

Absolutely...I can change/cancel mine without penalty: right now paying $80.?? nite for 2 bed non smoking...continental breakfast at Super 8...so post what you find for rates...appreciate it. thanks.

Just booked super 8, still rooms but up to $101 on the non advance puchase room ($83 advance purchase rate)

Every great party needs a Canadian...so here I come.:D

We are going to try really hard to make at least part of this event. We are using up a lot of vacation for other events next year such as SpyderFest, Spyders in the Redwoods, and Street Vibrations. It's not looking good though. I have my fingers crossed. This is going to be great location.

Lamonster.....

As you envision the ABQ meetup, do you see most of us arriving on the 18th, spend the night there leaving on the 19th for Durango? If so, those of us coming from the East would have to reserve the Durango rooms from the 19th instead of the 20th. Right?

That sounds like it will work but I'm waiting for more details. We might have a film crew with us from Alb. to the event :doorag:

Let me try and get some more details and we can nail that down. I wouldn't panic for hotel rooms just yet, thats part of the reason it took so long for them to give us a date as they were working with the local hotels. It's a 200 mile ride in so depending on what they have planned for Thursday we could leave in the morning of the 20th and be there before noon. If they have things planned then we could ride in on the 19th and then stay that night in Durango.

Sounds like fun. I had suggested meeting up with you around the Memphis area, but I expect to be getting to Memphis late Friday night before the event, where one of my brothers lives. He and I will then head out Saturday morning, meet up with another brother in Oklahoma City & try to be in Durango by Sunday night. (No, they don't ride Spyders, but we've done many bike trips over the years to Durango. Had a sister who lived there for about 25-30 years) I'll be riding in a couple of days before you. Doubt I can stay through the whole day Friday because of the number of miles to get back home before Monday's work week begins.

So would most of you guys want to leave from ABQ the day before the event? If so we can make adjustments, nothing is set in stone right now.

So cool we Texas folks are all staying together....LOVE IT! Know ya'll will make this a great first long distance ride for us as a group. Appreciate everyone's info & help!
