There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. OEM trailer wiring harness malfunction

Guess it all depends who did the installation and where the module is mounted. It has to be between the under seat connections to the rear of the bike on the left side.
I got a feeling its between the left tail light and the lower saddlebag plastic.

Mine is where I posted the pics Link to hitch and module.

Yeah, I just don't see a module in there. Before I rip the whole backend apart looking for it, I'm going to look under the seat for it. Tomorrow.

Have you looked under the panel under the seat yet? Find the Y harness first. It'll lead you to the module.
Okay, finally got the time to get back to this project. Lifted the seat to get to the access panel. It's not real obvious which two bolts and pins need to be removed to get the panel out of the way.

Access panel under seat.jpg

I found this info on another thread. Is this what I need to do to get that access panel removed?

The new module fits in between the 9 pin bike harness under the plastic cover under the seat. Access is by removing the left side panel and left passenger hand rail. Just disconnect the bike 9 pin harness plug, then plug the module in between the bike's harness. Then the bike side trailer pig tail plugs in to the into module. That's it.

I found this on another thread. I think this is what you were describing, right?

You know where your rear stock mug flap is. I think you have to drop that down.

I seen you had your left tail light off its that large black rear plastic piece that is part of the rear mudd flap and think that goes all the way down towards that area we been discussing.

I don't know how to get 'behind the covers'. Do you?

See part 67

Well look for luggages then part 67 which is the rear plastic fender. It breaks down the rear of the bike in the picture.

I tried to copy and paste but didn't work on here

If I get a chance I will look at mine. You maybe able to remove two screws from the saddle bag once the door is opened and then pull that lower panel out a bit.

I just confirmed on my Spyder the trailer module is below my left tail light mounted on the left saddle bag wall

Remove the two screws behind the left saddle bag lid next to the shock and pull on the plastic . You should give you enough room to look in the area I am describing

I thought that's what I posted the picture of earlier. Behind the taillight (with the rear panel removed and the fender dropped down). The harness is that thick black cable toward the 'wall' of the saddlebag. It is continuous - disappears below the saddlebag in one direction and under the seat in the other.

So, now I am confused.

Mine is below where your picture shows the connectors and Posi taps.

I would follow back to under the seat and what others have posted . It maybe under the seat next to the passenger arm rest on your bike??

Do you have a four way flat or 4 way square connector that connects to your trailer?

Keep following that trailer cable I am sure you will find it.

I'll take it to my dealer in Kamas when we relocate up there in a couple months.

It's a 4-square. I'm looking for help accessing the underseat panel at this point.

PANEL ISSUE

It's a 4-square. I'm looking for help accessing the underseat panel at this point.
Most if not all the connectors are under the large piece of blk. plastic that attaches to the frame in various places ....remove it and the connectors are there ..... I did this ONCE and before I put it back I cut out an access panel for the next time I had to get in there ...... Tedious the first time ..... but not after the access panel was cut out ...... It does look like a lot of work just to get to that. Almost as if Can-Am wants to keep us out of it. Otherwise, there would be a hinge or something. I'm thinking of taking a Dremel to the one edge that is attached to the tupperware, then just use some strong but flexible tape to create a hinge. Duct tape to the rescue again!

WELL MAYBE

I'll take some pics of mine and send them to your smart phone .......... when I did my Mod I had the entire panel out ....so I wasn't concerned about cutting or nicking any wires ..... maybe it can safely be done without removing the panel ........ Mike
