• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Odyssey Chargers

Well, my Battery Tender Plus has kept my Odyssey PC-680 at full charge on my 2010 RT for a year and before that it kept the 5 year old PC-680 on my BMW in good shape. I even connect it to the double batteries on my Ford Excursion 7.3 liter diesel when they seem a little low. I think I'm gonna keep right on using it no matter what Odyssey says.

The Odyssey tech didn't say not to use any specific charger. The tech just said the float voltage of the charger has to be at least 13.5 volts.

If you feel the info provided to me is incorrect, let me know and I'll delete that post.

Any of the chargers will charge the Odyssey, But if the charger isn't pushing enough juice THAT CHARGER will only bring it to 80%, But 80% with the Odyssey is more powerful than most batteries at 100%
In my opinion there's is NO need to delete anything.:dontknow:

I'm not saying that the Odyssey tech gave you incorrect information and I'm certainly not saying that you should delete your post. I'm just stating my experience with Odyssey batteries and a Battery Tender Plus. When I sold my BMW R1100RT, it had a 5 year old Odyssey PC680 that had spent most of the last 24 months connected to a Battery Tender Plus and still started the bike very well even after sitting sometimes for 3 months. I have never kept my Spyder RT connected to the Battery Tender Plus for long continuous periods simply because I ride it too often. But when it was going to sit for more than a few days I hooked up the Battery Tender. I don't believe the Battery Tender damaged either battery. That's just my experience and it might be well to note that it was with a Battery Tender Plus, not a Battery Tender Jr.

Here's a quote from the Deltran site relative to using a Battery Tender Plus on AGM batteries.

Recommendations for Using the Battery Tender Plus in Continuous Float Mode Charging: The line regulation characteristics of the Battery Tender Plus are excellent; less than 1% for line voltage between 115 VAC and 125 VAC. This charger is temperature compensated and it has a special charging algorithm optimized for sealed, gas-recombinant, AGM, lead acid batteries. Numerous motorcycle owners have reported to Deltran over the years that their batteries have lasted 3 years or more. Before using the Battery Tender charger, they would have to replace their batteries as often as every 6 months.
