"Notifications" with the new software version

It seems that none of the other changes will impact me.......since I am doing exactly what I was before and it is working exactly the same.

BUT....I am now getting a LOT of notifications.
Before I got a notification ONLY for private messages.
Now I get them for post quotes, likes and who knows what else.

I have looked at the "settings" and don't see any place to change this.
Is there one ??
Likely that there IS and I just overlooked it.

You're subscribed to a lot of threads/posts & you set your subscriptions to INSTANT, which means the system will email you updates about those threads/posts as it should.

Correct, I did not.
But it wasn't email notifications, just the little pop-up on here when I connect.
I didn't get that this time either.
