• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have no ass. It's been worked off or chewed off.

Well on to the problem. Have a 13 RS with ultimate tall boy which is nice but after 1 1/2 to 2 hrs riding my butt is numb and bones in the cheek are sore.

Anyone have any recommendations . Tried airhawk didn't like.

Thanks

Question: what have you done regarding the placement of your feet? :dontknow:
Do you have floorboards? Highway bars?
You might just have to find the right place for your feet to be; in order to keep your ass happy! nojoke

Have floor boards Bob and installing highway pegs shortly so legs are straight.

Have a grand invested in seat and drivers backrest. Will not invest money in another seat,

Thinking highway pegs may help a little :dontknow::dontknow:

Numb Seat

I have a 2012 Can Am Spyder RT-S. It had a comfortable stock seat, but the stictching was coming apart near the front, and there wasn't any backrest. At 65 years of age this year, I've come to the point where I (personally) needed a seat with a backrest. And because I wanted one that was electrically heated as well, I ordered one from Corbin. Corbin seats can be had electrically heated, come with a back rest, and all come with a fuel filler door. Neither electric heat, nor the filler door was available on the BRP comfort seat. And Corbin allows you to choose the color and style of the leather for the sides, seat, logo color, stitching, and welt. Maybe not an ideal fix for everyone, but one that has worked for my wife and I.

My butt was hurting also on long rides until I bought seat beads from value accessories. I didnt think a hard wood bead would help me or be comfortable, but they are cheap so I gave it a try. They are great for me. I guess they work by taking away painful pressure points. Maybe they will work for you?

Worth a try:bowdown::bowdown:

To me, this seems like the opposite to what you should do. If your legs are out in front of you, then all your weight is on your butt cheeks. If you were in a more rider-forward position, then some of your weight would be on your feet and legs. This would help fatigue and keep from having poor posture. I would try to get your feet under you more.

Trial and error

Seats are as personal as can be. Over the years I have dozens for various motorcycles. Once you find the right one, trips are a joy! Until then, torture! To say you won't buy another when the one you have hurts is insanity! Fitness helps, but the seat has to fit. Pegs/bars/seat/you. How all that fits together is a puzzle. Not an easy one, either!! Keep trying! You will get there!!

Another fairly inexpensive (compared to a different seat) thing to try is a sheepskin pad. I have one and really can't ride without it. It really made a world of difference for me......just something to keep in mind.

BUTT ISSUES

Some thoughts ..... Highway pegs ...imho.... are going to make things - worse ..... ALL your weight is going to be on your BUTT , if the legs aren't helping to support the weight !!!! ..... Think about a GEL pad - either a seat insert or just on top for starters ......... The sheepskin - I have one you can try if we can get together sometime at some event - Homecoming ????? - Spyderfest ????...... Mike

I'm just gonna throw this out there with no malice associated or intended
"IMPLANTS"?

With feet under you, you have more weight placed on your sit bones (ischial tuberosities). With feet forward, your weight is placed more posteriorly, and less pressure on your sit bones.

To the OP, if I still have my beads, you can have them. I'll check my storage room later today.

GONE

i'm with Bob and others....
if it weren't for my FLOOR BORDZ, my butt would be GONE by the time i hit Texas....
look into anything/everything that will allow you to relocate your feet forward to aft, which in turn will place the downward force, aka; gravity, on different parts of your anatomy... yah, you'll still get a bit of pain on long hauls, but nowhere near what you get when you only have 1 place to locate your feet... also, i use a sheep skin, and that helps as well....
happy motoring, and ride safely....

Please keep in mind that an RT is vastly different from an RS...

...But I added a sheepskin seat cover, Baker-Built highway pegs, and an AirHawk for the Missus.

We're good to go, for 400 miles or so!

I just checked, and I must have thrown the beads out when we moved a few months back.

To Large1,

I'm pretty sure your smart ass comment was directed at me. I don't live that far from the OP, so they were going to be hand delivered.
