• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I asked about "Must Have" Accessories on another board to get an idea on what I should get for my used 2012. I see from paperwork that came with it some type of sway bar set up & a Heim Joint Link Set which I suspect works with the swat bar. And a Bump Skid which I think protects the very low fiberglass nose piece. Close to 200 dollars for these two things which I think the previous owner thought were necessary. I'm not one for added bling but more comfort is my "Thing!" I rode a Honda VTX 1300 for thirteen years and just got worried about dropping it. I have a hip issue so cruising pegs were one of the first add ons. I'd like to put them on the RT but would like to see them on another Spyder and possibily sit on it to check out the fit. My crusing pegs on the VTX were a minor expense compared to what I've seen on for the Spyder. OK here's one for you. In the head light housing I see two small circles that look like they should have some type of light in them. Am I way off or are these spaces just for looks? Any suggestions on additional safety add ons? TIA (Thanks in Advance)

Don't know about Highway pegs, I need my legs under me. I do know the little "holes" you mention are for Euro-spec running lights.
Ryde your new Spyder and then decide what you want for farkles. All highway peg setups are certainly not equal.

Welcome welcome....

To both the spyder world and the best place to find everything spyder....and then some. As for the pegs you can check our vendor/sponsors on the home page for pegs and pictures but as for testing them you would have to find a group and see who will let you sit and try...The holes are for other models but you can get the parts and make them functional. They are a must elsewhere ....enjoy the new ryde....:ohyea:

RE: those little spots that are just outboard of the headlights: BRP offers some LED lights that fit in there...
RE: highway pegs...
I got mine from Baker Built, and here's what they look like:

Are yours pretty solid? I tried a set on a fellows 2016 today and they seem to move & flex more than I'd be comfortable with.Did you install yours yourself? Going to check out those Baker Built Ones that you have. Thanks for the reply & Info!

In the head light housing those two small circles are just for show, my first spyder was a 2012 RTS-SE5.( my current spyder is a 2014RTS-SE6 Cognac, 1330 engine) I would add LED'S ( lights) for more visibility on the "A" arms. Deanna

I traded off my 2006 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic for a 2012 Can Am Spyder RTS. I too, noticed the two "dummy lights" below the fog lights. And I asked the dealership about them. They are there for visual appeal. There are no lights that actually go there, or are available.

Those extra spots for lights just aren't used here... They are used in some of the lighting packages that are used in Europe. :D
We've had folks try to figure out how to crack into them and mount some accents: none have succeeded.
