• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have been lurking for a while and I am finally ready topull the trigger and get my Spyder, can’t wait. But before I do buy I washoping to get some advise as far what options to get, I am getting a 2012 RT-SSE5 and don’t know whether to get the Satellite kit or the CB radio interface.I love to listen to music and want to get a Bluetooth headset or helmet andwill add a GPS later on. I am leery of asking the dealership because theyalways seem to want to add all the options. If I could get some advise as towhich options are best to add from the dealer and which would be an easy modlater on I would appreciate it. I do have to say that the people on this forumseem to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful and I am excited about being apart of it

Thanks

Teddy & I would like to say Congrats & Welcome to the SpyderHood

Teds Red Sled is a 2011 RT-S SE5 and we added our own Garmin Zumo 665 with the satelite XM option. Using info from this forum (which we've added to) it was a pretty easy mod to do & it comes with bluetooth & you can add all your MP3s to it for your long road trips, we love it:yes: BTW, :congrats: & :welcome:

MAYBE A NEWBIE

Almost Welcome Aboard, just kidding....you are making a smart move.....except it's not a yellow G/S..R/S...haha......Mike...:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::thumbup:

:welcome:Mt wife(SDM) and I use BT helmets and our iPhones for music, audiobooks, and GPS(Navigon App)this works great for us and is cheeper!

:welcome: It sounds as if you've made a real nice choice! Upgrading the stereo; I'm a chicken about anything electronic

so I'd be more than tempted to let the dealer handle those chores. The satellite radio would certainly add options for your listening pleasure. I know nothing about the CB system; are you looking at that for interbike communications or what?? There's lots of Bluetooth intercom systems available that don't have to be bought through a Can Am dealer, so if it's just for rider to passenger intercom usage you'll have other options that are very workable.

Happy Shopping! :ohyea:

Welcome to Spyderlovers. I too am from Sanford. (I'm assuming Florida). I had a 2010 RT-S that I purchased from Seminole Power Sports here in Sanford, Florida. I purchased the XM radio package and the Zumo 660. In hind sight I think I would have saved myself a ton of money going the mod route rather than purchasing through the dealer. I am not mechanically inclined at all and felt that was the way for me to go at the time.

If you are from Sanford, Flarda, PM me and I can provide more info.

Chris

If you think you would use the CB then go for it. There really aren't any good options other than stock.
The XM is another thing. You could use that money to get a Garmin 665 that has the XM built in. :doorag:

My first mod was an auxiliary fuse block and FZ1. I put it under the seat on the filler port side.

This will enable me to add the pretty lights and other electrics such as heated gear much more easily than having to pull Tupperware or connecting to the battery. It also makes troubleshooting electrical issues much easier.
