There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hello Guys and Gals - Brand new to the board. Brand new to the Spyder web. Would appreciate any words of wisdom or otherwise. Somehow 72 birthdays have come and gone and I'm rethinking things - before trouble comes my way. Hate to give up the Goldwing F6B I'm riding, but have a Spyder bite. It's taken a while to learn the different models, and to do a couple of test drives, but now have a goal in mind. Aiming at a 2014 to get the bigger engine, 6 speed tranny and white color. Thinkin the manual transmission would help retain the motorcycle experience. Hope for a new one unsold. Could I do that and sneak under the 20K mark? Of if not, might a pristine, previously owned unit be at that price point?
Might mention back issues requite a "neutral" erect sitting posture. Long distance rider - not a hot rodder.
All ears if anyone has a thought or two.
Thanks!!
Happy 2016 to all.

It sounds as if the RT model will scratch all of your itches...
Now's the time to shop for a 2015 leftover; the dealerships will be trying HARD to move them out!
Happy Hunting, and the Best of Luck to you!

A RT with the semi-automatic will fit you perfectly. I got off a Harley Softail and do not miss the clutch lever at all. You will love it.

Great...

If if you can travel to pick up your new Spyder..then you should fine what your looking for....
i find that the semi auto trans...does give you the motorcycle feel.... .. I'll be looking for you at Spyderfest this yr....

White RT

Welcome Stick. Phoenix Craigslist had a new 2015 White RT for around $21,000 a few days ago. It wasn't Phoenix proper it was
a city somewhere else in the state. Sorry I can't be more specific. But check around and if your willing to travel you may hit your
price range. Good luck. Bob

:welcome:! I agree with the other commenters who've recommended trying the semi-automatic transmission. I banged the manuals hard racing for a few years and don't miss the clutch work and pedal shifting a darn bit. The SE is smoooth! I also agree the RT appears to be the best choice for the riding position you want.

Thanks, guys, for the input. Much, much appreciated.
The two test drives I did last summer were with the semi-automatic. I suppose I should test drive the manual before buying - might be too much shifting. Dunno. The SM6's are less expensive it seems.

SPYDER OPTIONS

:welcome:... I know of what you speak, I to came from the GW clan......I agree on the 2014 thing as far as getting the best price......but a left-over at this time is really an impossible wish......2015's are where you should look.......The basic model RT really has all the needed features....you can add floor boards for cheap if you are handy.......I would forget trying to even find a Manual trans model........BRP doesn't make many because they don't sell well............and once you try the SEMI-AUTO you will be hooked......I used to feel like you until I tried the Semi, now I wouldn't go back......Go to the home page here and check out the VEndor Ad's for IMotorsports....see what they have in stock for 2015 RT's.......PS, they will ship it to you for FREE......................Mike

Yes to all the above. Like Mikey says try it you"ll like it! Semi Auto transmission is by far the best and hands down over the manual. Left over 2015 RTL SE6 can be had for $21,000-$23,000 if you shop. Try Louis Motorsports in Greenville, TX. If any other dealer will match their price you have the best deal out there.

Welcome Stick

I just came from a 1984 GW. Couldn't find a ride I liked until I tried a Spyder. :spyder2:

Picked up a 2015 RT-S SE6 and love it. I rode two wheels and clutch for 47 years.
The Spyder is a nice ride, wife loves it also.

Welcome. ..

As you see from the above. ..your wishes can come true. I love the manual so I would stick with it. Cheaper less problems and much more control. I'm in your age group and won't give up even with the back issues limited right foot movement I ryde an RS 400 miles with ease. The vacuum assisted clutch makes it nice too..but your choice....happy hunting...

Another big YES to all the above here.
I went from 2 wheels (FJR1300) to 3 wheels (2015 RT-L SE-6) three months ago. Definitely do NOT miss the clutch or foot change at all. I picked up the bike at a good discount as the dealer was making room for the 2016's
The semi auto is really smooth. You'll enjoy it.
