• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New to me - which Spyder?

Welcome to this site! I'm 69, been riding 2 wheels for 50+ years, mostly Japanese/German bikes, but I owned 2 HD's as well. I bought a slightly used 2020 RTL (1100 miles on it in Dec 2022 when I bought it) Takes a little seat time to get used to the 3 wheels, it's not just a "Get on and ride" I now have almost 4K on it, and I love it. I bought it to do some long-distance riding, it has HUGE storage space, and you can buy Cam-Am luggage to fit it (I bought the hard case for the front storage) $8K is going to be hard to find, but don't be in a hurry to buy. Best time to buy is Winter, DEC-FEB (IMHO). I find the stock seat to be fine, and I can do 500+ miles a day on it. The 1330cc has plenty on HP for Hwy/In Town, but I noticed it only gets about 35mpg (Gold Wing got 43-47), and the "ECO" setting is worthless. But if you use it, it will retard the engine enough that passing will be VERY SLOW, and you should turn it off prior to passing. Cruise works Very well, Sound System is Great, and I use my phone for SiriusXM, Sena for helmet, all with no issues. The one problem I did have was I turned the engine off when it was in gear, that's a BIG NO-NO! Took about 10-12 minutes for the computer to work it out and go into Neutral. Good Luck with whatever bike you buy.

Ryker's are not bad rides. They are different for sure, but that's because they have different roles to fill than the Spyder. Ryker's are "scrappy and fun" for around town and light travels while the Spyder is "smooth, brute force" capable for longer trips and cruising. (My interpretation)

I'm a Ryker fan. I paid like $9K for my wife's new 2023 600ACE. I don't see why a low mileage use Ryker 600 or 900 could not be found for around 8K. In my area, 2023 models are still in dealers and all are discounted $750-$1000. If you find a used model, you also forgo the destination and commodity charges Can-Am forces on people.

I do agree with others, with 8K you will be hard pressed to find a Spyder at that price that's not going to be a "service project". Best of luck and I hope you find something that fits your budget and needs.
