• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My wife and I just bought a 2014 Spyder RT-S .I had been a two wheel rider for almost 50 years and age is catching up on me and it is now time to go to three wheels and the Spyder Rt made more sense than a conversion.

You certainly made the right choice, welcome to the "More Smiles Per Mile" club :yes::yes:

now time to start customizing it, start with the bumpskid to protect the front end.

:congrats: Welcome to the wonderful world of spyders! You will never find a more exciting ryde.

:congrats: on your new :spyder2:.. You will love it. It offers the thrill of a sport bike with the comfort of a large cruiser. Wishing you miles of smiles.......:yes:

Welcome

Now forget everything you ever learned on two wheels and begin you three wheel education.

Just little things like now you have to lean your upper body into the curves or get pitched off by g forces and this applies to your backseat rider too.

hang on when hard stopping as your Spyder has stopping power that will dump your passenger right up to where your butt is parked.

after you get used to driving you got to learn to loosen up on the handle bars.

You lose driver points for trying to put your feet down at red lights too!

Sassoman,
You are really going to have fun with your new toy! Take your time. You have to steer these things where you are used to leaning and tilting a bike. After a couple of hundred miles you will never look back:yes:

My 3rd Spyder will be ready shortly. Check out my sig for true feelings!

:congrats: on your new 2014 RT!!:yes::yes:

I am in my late 50's and moved from 2 wheeled fun to 3 wheeled fun when I bought my first Spyder RT last year -- a brand new 2012 RT Limited -- loved it - rode 7,650 miles in 2013 (very short ryding season here in cold Minnesnowta)....

Anyways, upgraded to a 2014 since I liked the 2012 so much. You will love it, it just takes time to get used to the feel and is not like the 2 wheeler. This thread information helped me when I first got my Spyder....give it a look: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?41346-quot-Do-s-and-Do-Nots-quot-for-new-Spyder-owners&referrerid=12858

It's a little dated (they will be adding more info on the 2014 RT), but many things still apply.....worked for me! Enjoy your new ryde!!!:yes::yes:
