New Sena All in One Mount kit?

So I see SENA has an All in one mount kit for the SMH10 which has wired speakers, ear bud, and both mic types.

For some reason though its $23 more than either of the other mount kits.

Anyone know why?
Do it have more coolaid or a bigger flux capacitor?

the only difference really is an additional chord thats really not needed unless I am missing something.

Not quite sure I understand the purpose of your post. If you don't need this mount then don't buy it. Other than that you just appear to be bad mouthing a part you don't need.

purpose is simple, whats the difference between the two mounts?

what makes it $23 more?

I already own both of the other mounts, but I wonder if the $23 more buys you better speakers or something?
or is sena just price gouging since you will not need to buy another mount in future?

What your getting is the option of either using ear buds or helmet speakers without changing the clamp itself. This seems odd to me because with the helmet speakers installed in the helmet, in my helmet it would push the ear buds to hard inside my ear canal causing major discomfort.

I have both style clamps Speakers/ear bud clamp and have found big downfalls of both clamps. While the speakers clamp is a lot faster to get moving once installed in the helmet, the quality of sound is WAY to tinny (no bass) and that takes a lot of enjoyment out of the music.

While the sound is 1000x better with the earbud clamp, the down fall is you have a cord you have to plug in as it's flapping in the wind on the side of the helmet and also the extra time needed to get the ear buds in and hooked up every time you get on the Spyder. It's up to you to decide the best of these two downfalls.

I don't see the reason for this all in one clamp since the earbud clamp is a lot cheaper and the speaker clamp is free with purchase.

Ear buds hurt my ears after a while so having the option of taking them out would be good on my half helmet.
I wonder how easy it is for me to cut wires and make my own adapter?

I remember a few years ago a guy we used to ride with did a 3.5mm plug to be able to use earbuds or speakers. This was back before sena had the option.
If I remember correct he said that he had to be careful about blowing out the buds due to the power difference??? He later added a capacitor or something to make it work but it was a custom job for sure.

The main reason a good set of buds would be nice is those custom form fitted noise canceling plugs with the speakers built in. But they are pricey and I don't like cords....probably the main reason to stick with speakers in the helmet.

sena speakers in my ear pockets are not loud enough to hear while highway riding, so, I need ear buds. I have an ear bud kit, and wearing earbuds with the speakers in the pockets is very uncomfortable. So I need to pull the trigger and switch to ear buds, or stick with quiet speakers...

Anyone know of a company that makes louder speakers?

You speakers are not positioned correctly in your helmet then, While the speakers have no bass, they are plenty loud enough even with my HMF exhaust. Reposition your speakers and if that doesn't work then bring them in closer to your ears by adding layers of Velcro till they get closer....

Are you speaking of the speakers that come w the Sena SMH10 type system aren't very good?

I've been looking at either the SHM10 or the Uclear system.

The Sena is very confusing as to what kit + accessories I might need for dual modular helmets. :(

I'm not saying the speakers are no good because they are plenty loud enough. Speakers need to be mounted in a enclosure to produce bass, and since wafer speakers are not enclosed you will not get bass no matter what brand they are.

You will not regret the SMH10 headsets as they are easy to use and offer the most bang for your buck. I got a set (2) for $225.00 on Ebay which I found was a fantastic price. This kit linked below should have everything you need in the box, but call the number in the Ebay listing below to make sure it will fit the dual modular (I think it will). They were great to work with.

The only thing I found rather stupid about what Sena includes in the box was, they give you 2 car chargers and 2 USB cables to charge it but they didn't include the Adapter to plug it into the wall. I'm using the one from my I phone so I don't have to leave my computer on to charge them from my home. I really feel they should have included the wall charger with these units, but they are cheap enough so I didn't let it sway my decision.

My main concerns with the modular helmet is that since the front flips up, does the Sena still attach in a way that It's convenient to use.

I like this option and will be buying it. I have the other two but hate the hassle of changing back in forth in the same helmet. I have my reasons for wearing both. Cost is most likely in the connectors and extra mic.

sm10

i have the sm10 and i hate the fact o can't remove the mic, so i like the idea of the removable mic

I was going to chime in but.....

I was going to chime in on this but everyone has done such a fine job of giving the information
I don't feel the need. BUT if you do want to change back and forth this is the way to go.

I hate to say, I think I am about to order one. I tried the ear buds directly from my iPhone while leaving the speakers in. While it did push, I soon got used to it and rode 45 minutes jammn. Then on the way home, I used the helmet speakers and used the intercom and was able to hear her fine, just not music.

Soooo, I may add a second clip to be able to remove the speakers from the pockets.

FYI: the Speaker pockets on the Scorpion as too small to move the speakers down more, and I did add the velcro pads that are included with the Sena kit to move closer to ear.

So helmet speakers for intercom Good, and ear buds If I want tunes.

Mounting options for the SENA are pretty unlimited now with all the different kits, and should be able to mount easily to modular helmets.

Speakers are as good as you can get as far as I know, and the system is reliable. So you cant go wrong with a Sena. You only need 1 dual kit and then which ever mounts even if you have multiple helmets. Can just move from one to the other.

Thanks

Just a little unclear how their mic mounts for a flip up helmet when attached to the outside. I did just find that they have another mic that looks like it mounts behind a cheek pad, but unclear how "well" it mounts.

going to order and find out I guess.
