• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi all new owner here. Bought a 2011 rss 3 weeks ago and my wife has already stolen it :-) soooooo. Last nite bought a 2014 st limited. My question is, the rss had a passenger back rest on it. Will I be able too move it to the st? Sure hope so, planning on taking just the st to Reno the end of September and wife needs the back rest and I sure can't afford over 500 for one just now. Thanks I'm advance.

Welcome to the family

Not sure which seats exactly that you currently have, so it's difficult to answer that.
Could you post some pics of the two units you have referred to?

Enjoy your time in the Forum, and congratulations to you both... You have done very well.

I checked last week for backrest, STL 2014, big problem: I have to have comfort seat to have the backrest (for driver). Same for passenger. Sorry:gaah::yikes:

Try this..!!

we have a sponsor who has a back rest that can be flipped to driver or passenger. Smoothspyder...this could help some but not if you are looking a backrest for both. I would think the back rest can be moved but you can check if the part numbers are the same...

:congrats: on being a 2-Spyder family!! Why not take both to Reno?

You should be ok, I took the backrest like yours of my 2011RSS when I sold it and put it on my 2013
ST SM5. Im pretty sure I saw in the parts catalogue that the same setup as yours will fit the 2014 ST

It looks like the BRP sport rack and back rest. My understanding is that it should fit. You need to move the sport rack, also.

I just to:welcome: you and :congrats:. Looks like you already have the answers to your questions. Good luck and ride safe.:yes:

:welcome:and :congrats: on your new :spyder2:. I bought a 14'RTS-SE6 3 weeks ago in Cognac. We are here to help you with any questions that you might have... :nopic: of your :spyder2:.

Just asking y not u both ride? Gas cost cheaper than backrest & labor to install, unless u got to use cb 2talk with wife?!

Thanks everyone. Really excited too be here even as bad as I hated giving up 2 wheels. So far really liking the spiders!!!!
Only taking one because it's a 6 hour trip and the wife has about 150 miles riding under her belt so far and doesn't feel ready yet. She's doing great and want her too enjoy every ride, and I like the hugs I get on the road too ;-)
