• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello all. Silver 2010 RT have had it for about 2 weeks now, it has around 450 miles, I had to move the jumper for the bags to show when open. Have a lot of braking noise when braking normal sounds like baseball card in spoke of bicycle. What can be done about this? Also noticed today that when I push down on the back end that when it comes back up it makes a loud bump thud sound. Is this normal? I have 45 PSI in rear shock. Also the RT got its first war wounds this past Sunday riding in the toy hauler. Straps came loose and allowed the rear trunk (just above the key hole) and fender to rub against the back ramp. Well that spot is not silver no more. Also noticed (around 100 miles) that the lower part of the belt guard is cracked, almost in half. Any one else ever have this happen? Think this would be a warranty item? From South Louisiana. But I work all over, in Houston, TX at the moment.

:welcome: you came to the right place for help with your questions and I'm sure someone smarter than me will be right along with answers>

If the baseball card sound is very faint, it is probably just the pads covering the ventilating holes in the rotors, as they pass. That is normal. If it is louder, it should be looked at by the dealer. The clunking sound indicates a failed rear shock. The dealer should replace this for you. There is a service bulletin. The belt guard should not be broken. I never heard of that before. If it was damaged when the Spyder broke loose, or by a rock or road hazard, it will be on your dime. If not, it may be covered on warranty...but be prepared for a fight. The trunk lid is your responsibility, I'm afraid. There is a tie-down procedure in the manual, for the next trailer excursion.

Welcome!

:welcome: Nice to see another Spyder Lover on board. I am new, also. I joined about 3 weeks ago. I've only put about 100 miles or so on my Spyder. This is a great group of knowledgable people here. I am certain you can get any question you might ask answered. Drive safely and enjoy the ride.

:welcome:
You'll quickly fnd that Scotty and a handful of others are the most patient and knowlegable guys.

:welcome: When ever i trailer any of my toys i always double the straps, Had one come lose years ago.:gaah:I haven't heard of a belt guard braking before, Maybe the lose strap did the damage? A good dealer might replace it under warranty. ?

New Spyder Owner

Welcome! New Spyder owner and hope you enjoy and ryde safe :ohyea:

:welcome: and :congrats: on the new ride. Sorry to hear about the glitches--once they get fixed, I am sure you are going to be a heppy camper.

there was also a recall on the original brake pads if they are squealing. have to be low mileage or you pay install but not parts. they have 3rd gen brake pads with a shim or something on back to reduce brake squealing.

make sure they check what recalls were done on your unit, DPS, the antenna if you have the radio... ect. there is a list on the main page of the major recalls of this website.
