Since you are running those floorboards it will be very interesting to hear how it improves your ride.

After installing my SBF floorboard, it was disappointing to find out how hot a foot could get. Have to switch from the floorboards to pegs often because of the heat. Don't understand how ya'll take it.

Its mighty toasty down here right now. Conditions perfect for a good test. Will post the results once installed.

I have also been looking for a way to get the hot air off my left side. Lots of hot air coming off the pipe on that side right where the gap is between the side panel and the oil cover panel. How about some wind deflectors like I've seen on Goldwings? Thanks again

Get some exhaust tape and wrap the left header pipe. It takes a little time and effort, but will make a world of difference on the amount of heat coming off that pipe. I have touched my wrapped pipe with the back of my hand when the Spyder was running at 4 bars, without burning my hand. Granted I would not recommend grabbing the pipe and trying to hold onto it, but just being able to touch it at all is pretty amazing to me.

Of course, if Harvey does come up with a deflector that would be cool as well. :thumbup:

I am also running a full bar cooler. Should be even better with the missing air dam kit installed. On our trip last year at freeway speed with ambient temps in the 80's we were running between 2 and 3 bars for hours on end... all I had done is wrap the pipes, change the spark plug, and do a coolant flush and re-fill.

Just in case anyone was wondering if the new "Missing Heat Shield" will work with either Corbin Saddlebags or Floorboards the answer is "Yes".

The only exception being the short foot boards that require cutting off some of the lower fairing. These particular products obstruct the "Missing Heat Shield"

Damn glad I just ordered the stone guard because right now I refuse to go on these roads loaded with crush stones.

I ordered the #2 package. Before I receive it, I was trying to remember if the spyder had to be jacked to drill the holes for the rivets (for the air mgmt. system). I know you showed me the place where to drill on your spyder; but, I'm not sure about the jacking part or if you take off the bottom plate and do the drilling. I'm just trying to prepare ahead of time.

You will have to remove the bottom plate to cut a hole in it using the provided template. This will make it very easy with it out as the E-Scoop drops in from the top side.

Sorry, the E-Scoop is part of a set and won't be broken up for seperate sale.

Sounds like you may have a bad "Y" gasket or your current system is diverting hot air upawards as it also moves it outward. Your air flow may be completely blocked on the inside of the panels causing the hot air to flow up and out of the vent.

The "Air Management System" is engineered to move the hot air in the direction it should go and aid the cooling process.

Looking at my 09-se5 it looks like I already have a lower belt guard so would I need yours or does your guard supplement mine.

The "MISSING BELT GUARD" is not on any Spyder, it's missing!

It covers the inside of the belt where rocks get onto the lower part of the belt and then go directly between the rear sprocket and belt.

Garythebadger just posted yesterday what happened to his belt.

The guard you see is only covering the outside and doesn't do the job.

The "MISSING BELT GUARD" also fits the RT.

I would actually go a step further and say that the existing lower belt guard is there for looks for the most part and might actually work against you. Tipically the stone is picked up by the rotating tire and almost never "splashed" onto the belt from the "outside". The existing belt guard will actually deflect the stone back onto the belt instead of letting it "escape" thus giving a greater chance for the belt to get damaged.

I have the 25" ultra touring windshield and when I put the air deflectors on that came with the shield, I was getting a lot exhaust fumes from the exhaust back wash. Do you think the lower air E-Scoop will help eliminate the fumes. I would like to put the air deflectors back on because they eliminated all the head buffeting I was getting.:helpsmilie:

I really have no clue about exhaust fumes being backwashed but I do know about getting the radiator heat away from your right foot. The
E-SCOOP TM is designed to go with the "Air Management System" and works very well with the full package.

This kind of sounds like you may have a "Y" gasket leaking fumes and the air deflectors are making the fumes come up. When my gasket was blown it was unbearable along with the heat when it was completely blown.

It will still protect your belt from rocks comming off of the tire and I beleive it will not be too obvious as it's on the inside.

Take a picture with it installed when you get it on, haven't tryed it without the rear fender yet.
