• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Hitch Carrier

I found and installed a hitch carrier, I want to thank everyone for their input it was very helpful. Since I don't want to drag my trailer 2500 miles (or so) 1 way to Spyderfest I will probably be using the carrier. I plan on only having clothes on it and keeping the weight light. More good news is I only have about $100 invested in it. Her are a few pics of the finished product.

So what kind of dry bag are you going to use? I'd suggest that whatever bag you choose that you take it on a rainy day test ride to make sure your clothes will be dry in it. Wouldn't you hate to arrive at your hotel after a long rainy day to find that you have nothing dry to wear?

I will wrap the bags inside a trash bag to keep stuff dry, that is what I did on my long Harley rides. Just have to make sure the trash bag fits tight around the inside bags so it does not blow around and rip.

Why not just put everything inside the outer bag in a trash bag, or use a vacuum type bag inside?

Whatever you choose just be sure to give it a test ride. Unlike a bag sitting on the seat behind you this setup will get a lot wetter.

Dry Test Ride

Did about 100 mile test ride and everything stayed tied down and I did not even know it was there.....so I think it's a go.....will see some of you folks at Spyderfest..

Who, What, Where, When & How?

Pictures are proof and worth thousands of words but unless I missed it where did you get it? How do we buy one? Inquiring Spyderbrains want to know...

Did you make it yourself? When or where can they be purchased?

Just a word of caution: Don't hide the license plate with too large a

bag and remember not to exceed the weight limit of the hitch. (#40)

Tote

What about a tote the size of the platform. Not a cheap flimsy one. That way your stuff will stay dry and you could mount your plate to it.

Nice Rack! :)

Sometimes it's just got to be said!:D
So now that you've given this a few test runs...Is there any adverse effects on the bag you carry, such as lingering exhaust smell on the clothing or issues with heat on the bag? I've heard others stating on other such threads that it could be an issue...
