I am looking at the Sena unit also...I wanted to install in trunk also..but I am confused. If it has to be plugged into the radio, how did you do that and still install it in the trunk? did you run a cable all the way from the radio to the trunk??

Hello, I posted a response earlier, but a picture is worth a thousand words....here ya go.....enjoy....hope this helps. It's a little involved taking panels off and all, but I had done it before....good luck if you do this. I used duck tape over the black area by the passenger radio controls to protect the finish -- when you remove the two screws holding this cover on, you need to slide it inward towards the center of the bike and get that radio control "hump" under the body panel (also disconnect the wiring) -- I just bent up the colored side body panel (it flexes, but be careful) and slide out the small black panel that has the passenger radio control on it....by using the tape, you protect the finish on that part. It's a tight area and is hard to work on to get the plug into the radio, but it can be done! You will need to drill a hole in the trunk area where you want to run the cable. There are "some" instructions with the BRP Bluetooth dongle kit...
Here's a picture of where the radio unit is and where to plug in the BRP cable that comes with their kit into the radio.....this picture does not show the Bluetooth cable installed yet, but you can see the radio connector connected to the unit in the upper right of the rectangular radio unit. The BRP Bluetooth cable hooks in the same side but on the lower right.
Best wishes for successful installs!!
