• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New engine design

There must be issues, the prototype was built in 2009, but these type of innovations take many years to develop and work out the bugs. They claim it is 50% more efficient, but seeing is believing.

I wonder how long before big oil owns the rights to this.

Think before you leap...."Big Oil" is the reason you can ride your Spyder, drive your cars, fly in airplanes, etc. Had it not been for the discovery of oil we would still be using mules and horses and bicycles, etc. Come to think of it, that might not be so bad after all. We probably wouldn't even have any cell phones!!! Plastic sure messed up the world!!!:roflblack:

Something has to be keeping this back.If it's as promising as they claim somebody would be putting it into a car now.
Remember the Wankel ? That had promise and would up with reliability issues.

Just my opinion. I could be wrong.

The rotor seals on the Wankel kind of did them in... Too short of a life! :gaah: (We had 2 snowmobiles powered by Wamkels) Durability testing might be the hold-up... and that always takes time to be done properly.
So we wait...

Some reliability issues, But the real problem with the Mazda wankel was poor gas mileage, Remember the Mazda Cosmos?, Mazda first try with a Wankel 10/12 MPG's And that was during the oil embargoes in the early 70's:yikes:

Come to think of it; those sleds did use a bit more fuel than their 295cc engines should have... :gaah:
I'm sure that fuel economy issues could be cleared up with today's modern fuel injection systems though.

Why is it after reading about this design I can see backyard mechanics inadvertently cryogenically preserving themselves for the future?? :yikes:
