There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. We use Progressive here in Bowie, TX (between Fort Worth and Wichita Falls). Have had great success with their MC insurance after hubby's wreck on a Honda VTX1300 - bike totaled and nearly hubby too. Have two machines insured; a 2007 HD Ultra Classic, and a 2012 RT SE5 Limited; I'd say price is about average (about $900 for both machines, including accessory coverage).

Good luck in your search.... Ann

Shop around... if your insurance for home and cars covers motorcycles, you get discounts. I use State Farm, and they treat the Spyder as a car, which is cheaper. Being in CA and needing only auto license may be why. Progressive, Allstate, and a host of others will cover you...

Find a local Insurance AGENT. He or she should be able to guide you.

Here in Houston, my State Farm agent (who handles everything EXCEPT our Spyders) told us to go to Progressive. I was surprised at how much more expensive the coverage was than for the Harley but they were competitive with the other majors. State Farm in Texas does not seem to be competitive on motorcycles.

Spyders are registered, insured and licensed as Motorcycles, not cars in Texas.

I recommend dealing with a local insurance agent. They know you, your insurable interests, and will usually help you through problems when they arise.

That said, I have used State Farm for everything since 1965. Lived all over the country and the service has been the same. No BS when I have a claim and I have been treated right each time.

On my :spyder2:'s, I currently pay $58 per month on the 2014 and $42 per month on the 2011. Both carry full coverage. Your rates may vary depending...

I canceled my policy with Progressive after I bought my Spyder. Seems they wanted $167.00 a year more to insure it than to insure my HOND ST1300. Insured my Spyder through RIDER for $100.00 less than I was paying Progressive to insure my ST1300. Go figger. It pays to shop around.

I also agree. I would check with your house or vehicle insurance company, they know you. Deanna

Oddly enough; I haven't found that the package discounts can make up for not using a Company that specializes in underwriting motorcycles.
You need an Agent who can shop the risk around for you...

... One that preferably rides also!

I shopped and found Formost the best, (as hill27) as Hartford doesn't cover bikes. Of course you have to be 50+ and join AARP:)

I use Foremost for my RT and 622 Trailer. This company even has a motorcycle race team. I know if you buy a new bike, they will replace it fully with a new one if totaled in first year. They have good rates.

Jeeez guys, you in the US sure pay a lot for insurance. Here in Ontario Canada, the province known for the highest insurance rates in Canada, I pay, for FULL coverage including full cost replacement $250.00/year. That's for everything.
Maybe because I have never made claims, or tickets - excellent driving record and over 55yrs.
Actually, when I had my Goldwing, I paid more.
The agent told me, that's due to 3 wheels, there is less chance of upset or crash on my part and here in Ontario, they consider the Spyder a very safe bike, hence, the low rates.
I am a happy Spyder rider. :ohyea:
