• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Need Help From Corbin Owners

SteveMac

MOgang Member & Monster Member,
OK, so I just got my new Corbin seat for the RT and installed last night. Looks great, but it really interferes with my lid on the tank top glove box. There are slotted brackets that the seat mounts to, but I have adjusted it all the way back and the "crotch area" of the seat prevents me from opening and closing the glove box lid. Has anyone else had this problem and is there some other adjustment that I can make? Looks like the slots allow for roughly 3/4" to 1" of front/back adjustment. :dontknow:

The front of your seat should not be covering the glove box. Corbin installed my seat so I can't tell you how to adjust. I would imagine though that there are others who can.

It is just so close. If I could squeeze out another 1/4" of adjustment, It would be perfect. Even 1/8" would help!

You have to play around with the adjusting screws a bit to get it back from the glove box. A lot of us have removed the locking pin for raising the seat. That goes a long way towards making adjustments easier.

I just got back from the Corbin factory in Hollister. When they were fitting my seat pan, I also had the tight fit, but they ended up grinding down the front lip a bit so that it fit smoothly.

Ordered mine w/o heat and w/Lamonster cut…. with a bit of finagling, it fit perfectly - locking pin, glove box and all….

Update. I just pulled the seat off so I could get a better look at everything.

It is true that the two rear hinges have about 3/4" of forward backward adjustment. However, I also found that the three bolts holding the rear brace to the seat also have about 1/4" inch of adjustment and they were tightened to where it pushed the seat forward as far as possible. I have reversed that and set the adjustment the furthest back, so It looks like it will fit now and the locking pin can remain intact. DUH and WHEW!

So for any DIY'ers who are installing their own, you have forward backward adjustment in TWO places.
1. The two 10mm pivot bolts on the hinge adjust approx 3/4"
2. The three 10mm bolts holding the hinge onto the seat also adjust 1/4"

By the way, the seat is fantastic. I can't wait to see if it helps the old posterior on the next road trip!

Maybe my frustration help others in the future...!

Some of us have found that the Corbin seat needs about a thousand miles for it to start shaping to your bottom. It may feel a bit hard and stiff at first--but it gets better. I have 34,000 miles total on two Corbin seats--and am still a happy camper.

Excellent. It already feels great, so I will just make it a mission to get the 1,000 miles on ASAP...

Corbin seat...

I've got mine adjusted full rear on the hinge bolts, and full forward on the bracket/seat attachment points... and the seat just barely clears my glove box. :cus:

I'm glad to hear that it was a relatively easy fix! :D Log those miles and smiles and please let us know what you think of the Corbin after the honeymoon ends...

I had the same problem. The more you sit on it the easier it opens. Also, it will open a lot easier when you are sitting on it. Give it time as the leather will stretch a little bit. I love my Corbin.
