• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I was just sharing how to tell and showing that nothing changed in the last week.

Sheesh back to you or is information sharing here now not allowed so people don't get thier panties in a bunch?

Just what information were you sharing? That I was wrong because I didn't realize the event horizon is accepted as one week?
I guess Mr. GateKeeper Finless I just didn't realize the rules. I'll refrain from commenting until I understand the rules.

Have a nice day, sincerely, really.

on that we can agree.

Alright, alright......put the cyber gloves back on. It's the internet, and many things can be taken out of context when you're not face to face. Spyder Ryder, I think you misunderstood. Finless has answered hundreds of questions for dozens of people on here, myself included. In time I'm sure you'll use some of his info. Take a breath and just use the info you recieve and don't judge by the way it's typed. I see you've only poste a handful of times.
Welcome to the forum....There is tons of info on here, and yes Spyder Codes is one of thousands of things posted here. Finless "Bob", has a lot of very helpful videos and "how to's" Check em out before you go all cyber crazy.

sold my Spyder

Last night I got a call from a guy down the road who knew I bought a Spyder from my neighbor.
He was considering it but I was a bit faster and I got a great deal.
Henry really wanted the Spyder and he offered me a deal I could not refuse.
The Spyder, a 2011 with 836 miles, is now in Henry's possession.I have a check with a healthy profit.
I don't know what I'm going to do yet, maybe see if I can make a deal on a 2015 F3 or a GoldWing.

To those who welcomed me, I thank You and to those who chastised me I thank You for the education.

Well it's Saturday and I'm sitting here wondering what to do about a recreational ride.
My thoughts turned to this forum for some inexplicable reason. I came here trying to find out about the vehicle I had just bought (and then sold). You guys are a pretty tough bunch. As a new comer I was told to read the Dos and Don'ts (I did) and then was almost immediately taken to task because I apparently had asked a question that was already answered in the archives. Then I violated a rule that said software discussions were only valid for the last week. I am ranting about this because while there is a lot of information on this forum it is owned by and overseen by a few "very active members" who are in control of it and it exists for their benefit. So be it. If I buy another Spyder I will lurk here but I have no desire to try to actively participate. Your club is closed and I understand that. I'm not thinned skinned so before you make that assumption consider this; almost all new posts are made the handful of people who believe they own this place. So when a new member comes please tell them all the rules like they might be tolerated if they 1:Don't ask a question that pisses somebody off, 2:Don't become offensive when a "real" member berates them for "seeing things" and 3:learns their place and defers to the "real" members.Take care and ride safe.

Hi Paul,

First on the Spyder. I have been riding for 44 years, have had 7+ street bikes. Due to stiff joints and other health issues I switched to the Spyder in April and love it. I have gone from my last 2 wheel collecting dust to riding again. I have had no issues with my Spyder. The 2 problems for me with the Spyder is; Expensive to maintain and lack of qualified mechanics. So.... I plan to do as much maintenance as I can myself which will negate both of my concerns. I did not get out much this year on it...but...bigger plans next year.

On this forum; I joined back in 2009 as at that time I was considering a Spyder... so I have been lurking here for a while and have been more active this year after my purchase. This forum is great for help, information and education. For the most part...there is a great group of members here. The search function which too rudely gets referred to does not work that well, is not specific enough. I also get tired of the comment..."read the manual". Some members on this forum (and I hope Lamonster is watching from an Admin point of view) do need to calm the hell down. They are too abrasive and it does not come across helpful at all. It is rude period. There are thousands of people here with all kinds of personalities, combine that with the fact that we are typing words on a screen where we can not express voice inflections and facial features..... things can get misunderstood too. It is hard to ignore ass hats but we need to try our best. THEY....need to calm the hell down.

Any member that rudely says; "use the search function" or "read the manual".... you need to think twice before you say that ! You are/may be offending a fellow lover of the Spyder. :banghead:

On repetitive questions, one perspective. I have been a professional dog trainer for 28 years; police K9, obedience for the public and more. I have been asked hundreds of times; "how do you potty train a puppy ?" Hundreds !!! It does get irritating. BUT.... just like this forum, people are always joining our programs at different times and different stages and though I may have answered that question last week, it comes up again this week. I MUST treat that person with kindness and respect and....answer that question again like it was the first time it was ever asked.

So that we dont lose members or scare away new ones.....some of you need to calm down a tad and shake off the dust. You can get old but you dont need to get crotichie too ;)

Lets try and make this forum enjoyable for all !

And Paul....I hope you learn more about the Spyder and get another. Whether you go to 3 wheels or back to 2....ride safe and have fun !

Craig
