Here's what happened: I had just left Aunt Catfish's resturant in South Daytona Beach after having a great meal. RT/SE5 had been sitting for about hour and a half. Came out and started the Spyder with no problem. A couple of ladies want to sit on the Sypder and take photos. Sypder still running. First lady got on and off, no problem. Second lady got on and while she was sitting, the engine revved up and then shut down. I was standing right there and she did not touch the throttle. The Spyder would start right up but would not remaining running unless I gave it gas. Would not idle. Ran rough like it was not getting enough gas. Check engine light kept coming on. Let off of the throttle and it would shut off. I rode the Spyder down the street but could only get up to 30-35 mph. At one point after starting it, it would not shift out of neutral. After shutting it off and letting it sit for 2-3 mins. it finally seemed to run normal.
ray:Filled it with premium gas and rode back to Jacksonville without a problem. I did not think of this at the time, but one thread mentioned riding the brake caused a limp mode. Could the lady have stepped on the brake and caused a computer foo bar? Any thoughts regarding possible causes for this limp mode would be appreciated. I will probably take it to the dealer this week and have them hook it up to the computer to see if it shows any issues.
