• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My Buddy and his 2014 RT....

Bingo! You win the prize! I was amazed that anyone had a 2014. I guess the dealership can't sell it so they are using it as a loaner. Amazing!
I think that he is using a smart sales strategy that a lot of high end car dealers use. If you let the customers use the newest nicest model, they fall in love with it and decide that they have to have one.

First, he said he was not impressed, then he went on to tell me how much he liked this or that aspect. I think he is in denial....

He rides about 300 miles a week so he's got some saddle time on it.

I spoke with a dealer in Indiana a few weeks ago about the new 14's and he kinda said the same thing, "not impressed" He said that the V1000 has way more grunt off the line than the triple. I ask if they was getting any in soon and he said yes but not soon, most likely after the 1st of the year. That's a couple of people now saying their not impressed, dang I have to get on one soon to see what's up!!

and then buy it at the dealer in the next town with the better price.....BUT they still bring the new machine back to you for the wonderful maintenance/loaner experience.:sour:

Funny because when I called Justin to pick that unit up he said it was going to be out for the week :banghead:

He did say he's working on me getting it till mine comes in when it comes back :doorag:

Really! Mr. Ward is riding YOUR 2014! Oh, that's a good one! He will be very happy to know this!

I get the felling he is 'Underwhelmed' more because he doesn't want to get attached than actually being unimpressed. As I said, after saying he was not that thrilled with the 2014 he started listing all the things he liked better about it than his 2012 RT.

I would assume that he is actually riding one of the BRP demo units, not an actual production 2014.

Maybe...
But I spoke with one of the reps last year when I tried out an ST Limted; she told me that they were hand-assembled, and valued at about a quarter of a million dollars!

I predict that eventually, after a few more years, they'll end up putting a supercharger in the 3-cylinder Rotax Spyder engines to get them to really come-to-life, much as SeaDoo ended up doing with their watercraft Rotax engines. The SeaDoo supercharger is really pretty small it doesn't take up much space but gives the engine a real kick-in-da-pants when you accellerate. Of course, they're more maintenance and expense... but totally worth it I swear!

I think though that I'll be quite satisfied with my RS Spyder for many years to come, I don't like long road trips anyhows so I have no plans to upgrade my ride... ever. The only thing I really wish my RS had was a cruise control feature, THAT would be worth something to me but not enough to replace the RS with an RT or RTS. Somebody should develop an aftermarket cruise control system for the 2008-12 model RS Spyders! Just wishing...

Somebody has: http://www.mccruise.com/collections/brp-bombardier/products/1 . They're spendy but they're worth it. Had one of these on a Burgman 650 Executive for 6 years and never had a lick of trouble.

Dan

Did the 2014 have the electronic trunk release? Please post on on the "2014 Spyder Changes" thread and let them know before they kill each other. nojoke
