• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My bride is the best

As of Tuesday I have been enjoying my new (to me) ride, bought for us by my bride. Moved from a Goldwing to a 2012 RT and we both love it! Found this forum yesterday and have learned MUCH from those who aren't so new to this form of traveling through life. After 40+ years of doing leg extensions at stops and sometimes arm curls picking up beasts, it is a joy to relax when stopped. Love my (as yet, un-named) bike!

Welcome !

Welcome and enjoy your new ride.

It will not be the perfect machine like the Gold Wing that you had to wrestle to hold up sometime but it sure will be fun. That is a joke for me - every once in a while people get on this forum and complain about why the Spyder isn't as reliable as my trusty old Gold Wing. Curious me always thinks - if the Gold Wing was so stinking good why are you with a Spyder. Not dissing the Gold Wing because we all know it is a great bike.

There are many of us on this site that will and could claim their Bride as the "Best" and I'm one of them. All I can say is be VERY careful about letting her on the front seat as she just may go out and buy her own as mine did ! And then you become a two spyder family and have twice the fun but at twice the expense. I myself had been a two wheeler for 50 years and switched over because of the ease and safety. And it's true , Blonds have more fun !

:congrats: &:welcome: . I hope the two of you enjoy yours as much as my wife and I enjoy ours. Safe travels!!!!

:welcome: & :congrats:

We are here to help, and ask questions.

Let the smiles, miles, farkling begin!

Great spyder choice, my first spyder was a 2012RTS-SE5 A/C,then I upgraded to my current spyder ( a 2014RTS-SE6 Cognac).

Be sure to check the Vendors, ( on homepage), of this site they have a lot of awesome spyder accessories ( farkles) to choose from, and excellent customer service.

Congrats on the new ride !!!!

A few years back my wife twisted my arm into buying a new 2013 F6B (Goldwing) so I had to retaliate by getting her a new F3 Ltd.

Our battles usually end up with interesting results .:yes:

THANKS

for all the "welcomes" and advice/tips. Thanks to youngers, I now know exactly what I have (SE5).
BigGuy66, thanks for the link. That is excellent and showed me many of the ways I was improperly riding my bike, particularly the shifting.
al0vely, so far the only thing I miss about my Goldwing is the familiarity.
PrairieSpyder, my wife bought it for me. She tried riding my Shadow and much prefers relaxing and enjoying the ride to being the driver.

Funny addition...I sent a picture to my son (a Victory rider) expecting some grief about switching from the Wing to the Spyder. But it seems that 2 weeks ago HIS bride bought a 2010 Spyder and they were coming over this weekend to surprise us.

Anyway, glad to be a part of the group.

John
