• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Muffler baffels and cat bypass

Will removing the muffler baffels and installing a cat bypass in a 2012 rtl result in any engine or computer problems

My 2013 RT Ltd has a Cat elminator & a gutted std muffler with no Power Commander/fuel management system or similar beyond the std gear & has been like that for 30,000 km plus with no issues at all besides the significantly improved mid-range response & better fuel economy - no running lean at all either (just had a major service done & everything, including valves, is on the better side of OK)! And the gutted muffler still has the double walls & std end caps/pipes, just no internal baffles or glass fibre sound deadening material left in there; so while there's little impediment to gas flow/escape it still pushes the noise out the end pipes but isn't obviously loud, & only ever sounds a tiny bit crackley or pops once ot mabe twice on down changes for the first minute or so of running on cold mornings! As for the total noise out the end of the pipe, most just comment or ask how I got the much nicer throatier sound without making it overly loud, few catch on that it's not a std system! :dontknow:

So I'm reasonably sure that removing the std baffles & fitting a cat eliminator is pretty unlikely to cause any engine or computer problems - just make sure that once you make those changes, start it up & let the engine idle for 10 mins or so to get the computer used to the new idle/low rev exhaust flow characteristics before you start running/revving it hard!
