I know I will get bashed from a lot of you, but that's life.

I am looking for a new dealer who will services my spyder and not keep reminding me I should have gotten it from them. I am in need of my first services and let make this short motorcycle mall was a BIG mistake. Ok I went to them because they are only 20 minutes for the to travel but after they got my down payment all hell broke loose and it has all been all down hill, last straw is trying to get my services and how the services rep talk to me wait a min I thought I was giving them more business and not begging them for anything I guess my money is not good for them.

This seems to be common posts on the Forum. I don't know where these dealers got their business training, if they got any at all. I worked for a Honda MC dealer in the 80s, and I can promise you, if you came for service and had bought your Honda from the dealer across town, you were given an appointment like any one of our customers, and we serviced you. I am sorry to hear your dealer is as he is. That doesn't help you at all, and in the end, doesn't help him, but apparently he doesn't care. I hope you can find another dealer who will treat you with respect and win you over to their dealership. If Motorcycle Mall doesn't need you, you sure don't need them.

Take the ride to Easton, MD...Talbot Motorsports is first-rate...I traveled 80 miles to get my bike there...well worth the ride...there are 3 closer dealerships, but they are not very good, unresponsive, etc...

Talk with Lisa or Chuck...they will help you...family-owned dealership...very nice and helpful...

Even though it turns out to be a full day for me to go there, get work done, and come home, it's well worth the drive...for you, it's longer, but you only have to go once in a while unless you're putting 20k on the bike a year...

Whatever you end up doing, good luck...the dealerships are there for you...they should act like it!

NJ DEALER

I WENT TO MOTORCYCLE MALL WHEN THE SPYDER WAS FIRST COMING OUT AND ENDED UP WALKING OUT OF THE PLACE - THEY WERE WILLING TO TAKE MY MONEY BUT DIDN'T HAVE ANY INFORMATION AND COULDN'T WRITE A CONTRACT. BOUGHT MINE AT LEDGEWOOD KAWASAKI AND COULDN'T HAVE BEEN HAPPIER WITH THE STAFF THERE. EVERYONE IS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND EAGER TO HELP. BOTH DEALERS WERE APPROXIMATELY 100 MILES AWAY FROM ME. GIVE NOELLE OR KEVIN A CALL AND THEY WILL SURELY HELP.

Well this was the last straw for me with motorcycle mall, would not even take anything free form them what a mistake going to them for my Spyder. Still having problem with message on display about seat switch defective and they tell me they can't find anything wrong and will not fix it and after complaining about vibration that I believe is from the belt at certain speeds from before 600 miles services and they again tell me nothing is wrong and want me to pay for a adjustment that I believe should be done under warrantee I will never go back to them.

I am no Spyder mechanic but for the first 400 miles or so there was no vibrations and now there is a lot between speed 48 to 63, I not only have gotten the chance to ride two other Spyders and felt there belts but checked the belts on three new Spyders on the show room floor and you can defiantly feel the difference on my belt compare to all the other 5 I checked. I plan on calling BRP this week to voice my dissatisfaction with this dealer and find another one close to me for services, also I will ask BRP what is the warrantee on the Spyder as I have seen and heard 2 years from date of purchase but this dealer insist that it is one years and told me after that time if I come in for work I would have to pay and have been trying to sell me a after market warrantee from I my picked my Spyder. I have never had such a hard time with any dealer trying to get work done on any of my toys as I will never go back as I could not trust them to work on my Spyder again and to tell you the truth the way I went on yesterday with both the services rep and to the owner if I were them I would not let me in there again. They don't care if they loose one customer as they will get 5 more right after that one leaves they are a volume seller as they do sell a lot of bikes and they seem not to care too much about the after sale relationship with the customer.

Time for you to find a new dealer for sure. States right in the manual that the warranty is 2 years. In the long run a dealer will make far more profit off of service than the original sale of the Spyder. Even warranty work as they bill BRP for it.

Good luck - and other dealers shouldn't have a problem giving you service.

Roger,
It is common for most motorcycles to have a certain place where vibrations are the worst. On belt drive motorcycles, this is sometimes amplified. Other Spyder owners have noticed this problem, especially after the first service, when the Spyder belt tension is readjusted by the dealer. I would adjust the belt tension. Adjusting it won't get rid of the vibration, but it will move the harmonics to a different spot, maybe one that conflicts less with your riding habits. If you are uncomfortable doing this yourself, or lack the tools, space, or mechanical know-how, find another dealer who will do so for you. As to getting it done on warranty, it will depend on the dealer. As I recall, belt adjustments are not normally covered under warranty, but I could be mistaken.

This is why I want a BUDS system which would resolve this problem.

I know how you feel, and believe this will be come the down fall of the Spyder as a common form of travel is a independent dealer base, and not allowing the customer the tools to repair the bike themselves.

Burg,
That's the same I heard about M Mall when I was buying. Went to Ledgewood and thought they were great. I actually bought from Xtreme Machines in Millstone (CNJ) because its 10 mins from my house. They are OK, but in NJ - noone beats Ledgewood.

Go to Ledgewood . See CJ . Talk to him . See Joe in service.:clap: Talk to him. You will buy from them . I did . They couldn t be better.
