There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. We just finished tha CAD model of the Spyder web inlay for the new Kewlmetal Center Console. I can't wait to get all this stuff back from my shops! My Wife is currently test riding some handle bars with 6 inches of rise! And she loves them! There is actyally going to be a black frame on top of this that will hide the yellow outer frame.

Here is a pic of the 6 inch rise bars with my first prototype center console. The first complete kits I am making will be 4 inch and 5 inch rise. They will include handel bars, the new center console and all the GPS, Cup holder, and Gizmo mounting capability. The Ignition cover is missing in this pic, so is the rubber cover that will finish it all off. The stock cables ALL WORK even on this 6 inch rise setup, with some re-routing.

is the rise adjustable or fixed once installed?

The rise of the bar is fixed but remember, with this setup you can rotate the bars in the riser clamp and there is a lot of fore and aft adjustment that way.

Stop it! I want a 4" NOW. ::)

I have not yet installed my BRP Riser block. Will your setup work with the Riser block or not even matter?
Any ideas on pricing yet?
Is the center console available for the original handle bars?

Matt
We are interested in a center cover when you have them available. We just put a set of bars on wifes spyder and she loves them. Used BMW R1100GS bars these are three piece bars with area where grips fit are rubber insulated, bars also have a crossbar that makes them very solid. Probably reduced viberation in grips about 35% to 40%. These bars move grips up 2 inchs and back 4 inchs with same angle as stock. Was going to make a cover but it looks like you have a very nice setup. Let us know when the covers are available.
Thanks

You can use my center console with or without the BRP riser block and it will work with virtually any 7/8 bars including the stock Spyder bars. I do not have the pricing yet.

Paul,

My center console should work with your bars. It will re-mount your ignition switch back in the stock location so the steering lock will still work. It also has 3 mount points for a GPS mount, Cup Holder, and an MP3/XM mount or whatever else you might want. It will be posted at kewlmetal.com under products/Can-Am Spyder as soon as it is ready and we start taking orders, probably 2 weeks or so.

Matt,
I hope you make it an easy install. I started my riser block install last night. I hit a road block (pun intended!!) when I tried to get at those two small bolts under the center cover.

Please make it a DIY friendly mod!

Hey Matt,
I am definitely in for the console, in silver. I might want to look at your bars too, even though Jim mounted 4" rise bars on my Spyder already. It looks great! Thanks for your good work and your creativity! :congrats:

You will still have to get the stock cover off to install my setup. I know its not a fun job. I have a tiny little 1/4 drive ratchet handle that made it possible. If I did not have that little handle, I am not sure I could have got the stock cover off. The good news is, my cover is WAY easier to install and remove!

I finally found a slim ratchet at my local ACE hardware store. Another Metric set to keep the others company. ;D

Would you happen to know much about the that large center lock nut thats inside the riser?
I installed mine today but I'm not sure I have it right.

I can turn it with the my ratchet with some tension, but it keeps turning. I'm confident I did not break it other wise I woud not have been able to secure it all and go for three test rides.
